Disappointing few days for Hoyland.

Hoyland played thurlstone at home on Sunday and it proved to be a hard fought game against a strong team who will go on to win the league.
An early bad decision from the ref gave thurlstone a one nil head start when Matty roller was brought down in our area and there striker played on and slotted home a cheap goal and from that point onwards Hoyland was chasing the game.
Thurlstone went 2 nil up but Hoyland continued to battle and Ben Lang earned and converted a penalty to make it 2-1 coming in at half time.
The second half and both teams had plenty of chances. Hoyland pushed men forward to search for the equaliser but thurlstone with the last kick of the game found the net again to make it 3-1 .
Head's high on a decent performance.

Hoyland 2 Vs 5 worsbrough.
Hard loss and a lack luster performance from hoyland.
Worsbrough are always tough opponents and we normally end in a draw over recent years.... But not on Thursday night.
Hoyland did find the net first after Ben Lang was brought down for a penalty. Jimmy armo put it in the top corner to see Hoyland go 1 nil up.
Worsbrough found the net twice soon after from a corner and a lovely individual goal with a shot about 25 yards out..
Hoyland continued to press and found a goal early in the second half to go to 2-2.
Both teams had plenty of opportunities but worsbrough was creating more and a third goal was scored to get them back in front.
A free kick for Hoyland whipped in and a goal finished by James hector was disallowed and it would have made it all level at 3-3.
For the last 8 to 10 minutes Hoylands heads went down and worsbrough slotted 2 more goals in late on to finish Hoyland off.
A poor performance overall.

Good evening everyone. Just thought I'd keep you up to date with what's been going off over the last few weeks.
Hoyland suffered 2 cup losses over the last few weeks

Lost to rose and crown 2-1 in the fa shield.

Today Hoyland FC played rose and crown in the fa shield and lost at home 2-1 in a very disappointing performance. Man of the match was jay Ross and the goal scorer was Jimmy armo.

Last week
Hoyland played worsbrough in the league and ended up sharing the points after a 1 -1 draw in a hard fought game.

Next week Hoyland take on wombwell town in the Roy pardon trophy. It will be a difficult game. Wombwell play out of the Barnsley prem and we hope to give them a good game and push ourselves to overcome the challenge.

Hoyland 4 vs 0 singing man
We kicked off the second half of the season with an away game against the singing man who we had already played twice this season due to a cup tie and the first game in the leauge.
On both occasions we won the 2-1 and 3-1 but we wasn't going to let our guard down and allow ourselves to believe the game was won and become complacent.
The game kicked off at 11am and without sounding disrespectful hoyland got the ball and never really looked in trouble.
Once in possession hoyland created plenty of chances and one soon fell to the leauges top goal scorer james hector who burried his first chance.
Jimmy armo with some individual talent seen him notch another and owen evans made it 3 with a nice strike.
The first half had some good performances from armo, wynn and evans.
Second half and more of the same. Hoyland had plenty of possession but didnt find the groove they had in the first half to convert there chances.
Hoylands keeper didn't have to do much but was called upon a few times in the 90 minutes and as always vice captain jay bryan was equal to them.
James Hector found the net for his second and hoylands 4th and wrapped up the game.
Not everyone was up to scratch today and moggy was as useful as a c**k flavoured lolly pop.
Good performances from jay ross and Stefan bagley. Outstanding performance by club centre half matty roller who was fantastic and non more so than ben earnshaw who got man of the match. ( refs choice )
The main man in February is Stefano baglarino with player of the month. His new wig has given him special powers and made him decent again. Congratulations.
Huge game next week against Worsbrough in a close title race. Should be a cracker.

Hoyland fc 4 vs pinfold pumas 0.
Roy pardon Cup today away at carlton park vs pinfold and it was touch and go if the game would be on after all the bad weather weve had.
Hoyland lined up strong but understood the game was going to be tough with the surface of the ground and we had to make things simple and keep possession as much as we could.
Hoyland got off to a strong start as expected and created a few good chances with james hector just putting one wide. Soon after he assisted jimmy armo with a ball straight across the box leaving jimmy to finish it up.
Soon after jimmy had a stone wall penalty denied amd more chances went begging. A tough day to get your foot over the ball.
Even though we played well and had most of the ball we come in at half time 1 nil and felt one mad moment would allow them in to the game.
We made a couple of changes at half time and from a corner a loose ball fell to ben lang who passed in through the defence with 3 hoyland players waiting to get on the end of it but matty roller was the one to make it count and put the ball in from close range.( 2 nil)
More changes from the bench and a chance for everyone to have a run out with the game feeling. comfortable. Pinfold did have a few decent chances through 90 minutes but jay bryan was equal to them and kept his clean sheet.
With around 8 mins to go hoyland won a penalty and ben lang stepped up and got a deserved goal after a great game.
Jimmy armo was physically struggling through the game and with 1 minute to go simon davies realised there was only one man he trusted to replace him. Up step josh dixon. Although by the time he took off his jacket and completed the substitution there was only 10 seconds left.... but never fear, dixon is here. As dixons birds know... 10 seconds is all it takes. A goal kick from pinfold to the centre circle, a missed opportunity from pinfold to gather the ball and ben lang nips inbetween the midfield. A scream from silky ( give the ball to dixon) ben passes ot to dixon who gathers it and sends the defender the wrong way, a quick look up to see the keeper off his line and BANG...25/30 years out and lobs the keeper with a shot going straight under the cross bar... final whistle blows and all the credit goes to the manager for making the change 🤪.
A special mention to a player whos busted his nuts all game and worked harder than everyone.. MY BAGGERS...stefan bagley played brilliant and earned himself man of the match. ( refs choice )

A special thank you to tomo for the time weve spent at his pub but hoyland fc have moved venue now and are going back to the prospect tavern if anyone ever wants to call back after games.

Hi everyone.
A couple of things to say.
From now on after the match on game days we will now be going back to the prospect tavern so your welcome to join us after the match for a drink and some food.
This sunday we take on Worsbrough away in what will be a huge clash between 2 strong teams.
Not many games over winter but player of the month for December was jimmy armo who scoops up his potm award since September and club cb matty roller gets it for Jan.
We hope all our supporters can keep coming as the season will start hottting up as every game is must win in the leauge as we try to add as much pressure as we can to Thurlstone who ate unbeaten but we still have them to play them twice and them games are going to be huge.

Hoyland fc 1 vs 3 cottage fc.
Hoyland was back in action today after around 5 weeks off due to Christmas and bad weather. We took on prem side the cottage in the hospital cup.
The conditions was heavy for today's game but both team were ready to go and fight for a place in the next round.
Hoyland started the best of both sides and caused some major problems for the cottage.
Big chances from owen evans with a shot just going past the post having beat the keeper and a one on one went begging when jimmy armo broke the lines.
Hoyland was by far the better side the first half an hour controlling the game and continued to create chances.
Finally a chance to jimmy armo who smashed home from close range to put hoyland infront.
Cottage are obviously a great side who was yet to have there spell of possession and soon after going one nil down they had more urgency in there play.
Ben lang made a tackle outside the box which I thought he got the ball but unfortunately the ref gave a free kick were they capitalised scoring from the set piece.
Half time and all to play for at 1-1.
Both teams come out well but the cottage was the better of the 2 and fitness levels started to play there part.
Subs were made to bring a change of pace but it was a hard game to get in to and I think the lads found in hard to settle in to the game.
Cottage persuade there second amd had a lot of chances going wide until a cross from the right was met by a great header. Score 2 -1!
Last ten mins was hard fought and hoyland did all they could to try to create but a through ball for cottage seen a 50/50 from hoylands keeper and cottage fc striker and unfortunately the striker went down in the box and a penalty was given.
3-1 after a calm penalty to the bottom right corner.
The game had just minutes left and was played out by 22 tierd players after a hard fought game. The game was fair and well played by both teams and I think there was plenty of respect for the match the cottage received by us and even though hoyland are 2 leauges below but still pushed them all the way.
Matty roller was man of the match and also great performances from jay ross and stefan bagley.
We take on the singing man next week in the league.

Hoyland fc 4 vs 1 singing man.
Hoyland travelled to Rotherham rd to take on the singing man in the supplementary cup.
Hoyland lined up well even though 7 players were missing today including keeper jay bryan but we still knew we had a solid team out.. Josh dixon stepped up and made a great account of himself between the sticks as hoylands number 1 today.
Hoyland started well and confidence was with all the players as hoyland was passing the ball well around the singing man and controlling possession and tempo of the game.
Mitch wynn back from injury found the net twice through the game finding the first to put hoyland infront and then jay ross bags the second.
Half time and 2 nil and hoyland was comfortable. A couple of changes for hoyland at half time and the second didn't have the same feel to it.
Stefan bagley held the midfield together well and his terrier mentality keeping pressure on the opposition and forcing them to make many errors.
The back line of moggy, cryer and nyryn played a big part in the control of the game and they defended well and was always calm in possession and playing out from the back.
Mitch wynn scored our 3rd and at this point the manager made quite a few changes to make sure all players had a run out but too many changes made us wobble for a small spell allowing the singing man a 10/ 15 spell on top to score and the went in search of a second but hoyland seen the spell out and gathered themselves well.
Hoyland wasn't done yet and man of the match jimmy armo ( refs choice ) put the game to bed after a great individual goal to make it 4.
Jimmy at 45 assisted and scored in the game and continues to lead the way at 45 years old. Another brilliant performance from an encouraging team player.
