Today sees us hosting AFC Brush & Easel of the RDSL which is set to be a great game. The pitch is set, the lads are up for it and it would be great to see you down there with us! Kick off at 11am.

Today saw Hoyland play host to Rose & Crown, in which was always going to be a difficult day due to half the squad being away. The game started relatively even, until the 20 minute mark when Rose&Crown broke the deadlock. A couple of good saves from Stefan Bagley made sure we came in at the break just the 1-0 down.

A shakey start to the 2nd half saw us for 2-0 down early on, after a very ropey back pass from JB saw the Crown striker round the keeper and bury into an empty net. Just 5 minutes later, Bagley brings down the striker to hand Crown a penalty, which was saved very well, but the unfortunate rebound fell to the feet of the striker for 3-0. A fantastic delivery by Mitch Wynn from a deep free kick found the head of Ben Cryer with a back post diving header to give us some hope of starting a come back. With a great build up move, Ben Earnshaw cuts in from the left and squares the ball for Ben Lea, who scores with his first touch in his 5 minute cameo appearance for Hoyland. Final five minutes saw Hoyland given a free kick on the edge of the box, and with a pin point delivery from Owen Evans, Ben Cryer again nods home at the back post to level the game. All in all, a strong performance in what was a hard day at the office. Wombwell Town awaits us next week!

This weekend sees us play host to Rose&Crown in our 2nd pre-season friendly. After a strong start last weekend, the lads will be looking to continue to build momentum as the season gets ever closer.

The lads kicked off their pre-season today with a great performance and huge win over Cottage this morning. A great all round performance from all, especially from our new additions who slotted into the squad nicely. We now look ahead to next week where we face Rose & Crown at home!
