The G&G Lift Off Is BACK!
Friday 26th June | 5.30–7.30pm
We’re excited to announce our second Lift Off event is coming soon! This is a fun Weightlifting Competition open to members and anyone else who wants to join us and test out their olympic weightlifting skills — and it’s going to be a fun night!
Expect big lifts, PBs, great vibes and epic snacks in a low-stress, supportive, semi-competitive environment. The June Lift-Off is all about having a go, testing your Olympic Lifting, and enjoying the buzz of lifting alongside others.
How it works:
Everyone will Sn**ch first, then we repeat for Clean & Jerk:
We start with empty 20kg / 15kg barbells
The weight increases in small increments each round
You can choose to lift or pass each weight
If you succeed, you move onto the next weight
Miss a lift 3 times and you’re out
There’ll be prizes for big lifts, PBs and impressive performances, but the real win is getting involved and challenging yourself in an encouraging atmosphere.
This event is perfect for anyone who’s been working hard in our weightlifting classes and wants to try a fun, friendly comp-style format — with zero pressure.
There is a small entry fee of £5 for members / £10 for non-members for this event to help us cover the costs of running it.
