'Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better' ALBERT EINSTEIN

With modern life taking its toll on our mental and physical health, the antidote is immersion in nature. In the countryside the only deadline is the natural rhythm of light and dark. It's free of charge, there's fresh air and it gets us fit. Time in green space is a win-win situation for anyone battling overwhelm, stress or anxiety.

We have a wonderful selection of retreats that feature nature focused practices, such as forest bathing, foraging, rewilding, wild swimming and wildlife encounters, whether you're crunching through winter snow or wandering among spring wildflowers.

Meet hosts, Francesco Piatelli & Francesca Gambato. Francesco was born at Maraviglia, ran a company in New York, then returned to grow artisan olive oil. Partner Francesca, a food anthropologist, honours Tuscan culture in every dish. Both intelligent, passionate people, they’re keen to share with others the natural life they have crafted for themselves. Bring a journal - there’s expansive, unstructured time and yoga teacher Tashi Dawa offers some stirring perspectives on contemporary life. Resting under an old oak, your own insights bubble to the fore.

NEXT RETREATS: Mindful Movement, 16-22 May 2026;

Danny Shmulevitch is an experienced guide and facilitator whose work invites participants into a quiet, slow rhythm of life - one rooted in the body, nature, and presence. Raised among semi-nomadic tribes in the Sinai Desert, Danny draws from decades of nature-based wisdom and leadership. His deeply transformational retreats are set in the forest in Gloucestershire, England and are centred around deep listening and embodied awareness. Through movement, stillness, breath, and nature connection, Danny supports individuals to return to what is essential within themselves.

Danny’s passion and wisdom are exhilarating, he’s an excellent listener, and you’ll feel safe and held in his company. The pace of his retreats is quiet and unforced, yet deeply transformational.

Our reviewer Carissa Bub told us: ‘I didn’t need to see the magic to feel just how much my heart had expanded over less than 24 hours. I felt connected, not just to every living thing around me, but to galaxies I could not even see.’

This is your chance to forget your hang-ups, explore your creativity and have fun with like-minded souls. Although the emphasis is on the journey, not the outcome, there is a massive sense of achievement when you create something new. Choose to come for the day or stay over at The Bell, which is an award-winning quirky pub and a lovely place to enjoy.

Create your landscape masterpiece. Forage for textures and print onto paper. Weave a Christmas wreath or recreate the beauty of trees in thread.

Philippa hand-selects inspiring, talented tutors with a gentle approach to their craft. Many are professionals in their own field and all have sensitive and patient teaching skills.

Thank you for this joyous footage of one of your otters playing on the riverbank on Earth Day. Too lovely not to share!

Otters have recently expanded their territory at Broughton sanctuary and are being seen more frequently in new areas.
For the best chance of spotting one, guests can head to the beck at dusk or dawn and look for tell-tale webbed toe prints or muddy slides down banks to the water.
