Member of the Month- August šŸ†

It’s time to reveal who has earned the title of Member of the Month for August…

Please give a round of applause to Rhyse Cronin! šŸ‘šŸ‘

Rhyse has been a member for more than 10 years, which says a lot about his consistency and dedication to training. šŸ™Œ

There are plenty of other reasons he’s stood out this month too. He’s capable of some incredibly tough exercises, he’s a great training partner and is comfortably in the top 10% when it comes to ability in the gym. šŸ’Ŗ

He’s also pretty easy to spot when he’s in — partly thanks to his choice of tight training bottoms, but mainly because you can usually hear him from the other end of the car park! šŸ“£ šŸ˜‚

So congratulations Rhyse — well deserved and thoroughly earned! šŸ’Ŗ

Choosing a Meel or heavy club / clubs to train with.

Don’t let your ego make your choice.

2-4kg singles clubs or 4-8kg pairs is where we generally start people.

Forget all the nonsense you see of ā€œinfluencersā€ giving people huge clubs to lift. That’s like me taking them to a weight lifting gym and expecting them to do a 200kg clean & press first workout…..

This is a good demonstration of shoulders strength relative to body weight.

The slight isometric before external rotation is a key point to adhere to.

This exercise is a great example to use for sportsmen and women particularly those in racket sports - padel is growing fast and martial arts - boxing and BJJ in particular.

If it isn’t in your program try it and see where you are with it.

It’s a far better option than the elbow on knee dumbell exercise when performed correctly.
