Last night’s Social Run @ Glasshouse. A run full of adventure. We dropped into Entry Hill Golf Course to see the preparations for the Forest of Imagination (open 25th & 26th Sept). Think we ran through ‘Waters Way’ 🤷‍♀️.
Then on to Odd Down cycle track & the tumps for our first sunset view - just about visible through the trees.
Next was an impromptu run-by Mary’s house. Mary wasn’t running with us this evening as she was packing her bag ready for the Loch Ness Marsthon on Sunday. Go Mary!
Next stop Twerton Roundhill for our second sunset view (only just caught the end but still a lovely red sky) but by then the moon (a harvest moon for September) was nicely risen in the east to illuminate our way back.
Our 8.2km hybrid route with 170m of elevation started on trails & ended on pavements - perfect as we switch over to nighttime runs.

For our next Social Run on 8th Oct we will be going to BATHFITFAM’s Feel Good run starting in town. Details will be on socials.
After that, our first head torch run will be on 22nd Oct so dig out those torches, & more importantly the charging cables!

This Thursday for Social Run @ Glasshouse we’ll be moving from summer runs to winter runs as the evenings draw in.
So we’ll start on the trails in the light but finish on the pavements safely back to base. Still an 8-9km route & still with hills! Still the same great company & chat.

Last night’s Social Run @ Glasshouse. We’re back after our summer break & as always a total delight to run with this energetic bunch.
Our 9km route went out through Rainbow Woods to Bathwick, across the skyline fields (no sunset 🙁 but still good views 😀) then back up to Rainbow Woods 🥵 with some going a sprint finish back to Glasshouse. Around 170m of elevation in that too.

We’re back after our summer break!
Come & join us for an 8-9km trail run from Glasshouse up here in Combe Down.
It’s free to join & we’ll run at a leisurely pace. There’s always a lead runner & a tail runner but you must be comfortable covering that distance, with undoubtedly some hills too!

There’s nothing like Brickfields Park parkrun to put a smile on your face. But this morning there were even bigger smiles as we were joined by none other than Joe Wilkinson .
As you’d expect, he was the nicest man & super willing to pose for selfies with us all. We were like giddy teenagers!
Whilst we can’t guarantee famous people every week, we can guarantee a fun event! Even the rain didn’t dampen our spirits.

Last night’s Social Run @ Glasshouse. Again another bumper edition with a couple of runners all the way from Australia!
I’d planned the 8.1km route when it was 30 degrees outside but the temperature was a bit lower than that yesterday evening. So through the tunnels we went but not to shelter from the sun, but the rain 🌧️- yes that wet stuff from the sky!! 🤷‍♀️ See last photo for rainbow proof…
Our route took us down Perrymead, across the secret field 🤫 to the cycle path. Through the short tunnel to Bear Flat, Greenway Lane, then down the steps back to the cycle path, long tunnel out then back up more steps to Summer Lane, with a Shepherds Walk finisher.

We have a break from Social Runs in August (but there are still some ad hoc training runs - see website). We’ll be back on 10th September for a fully daylight 🤞run then we’ll start our alternating winter off road & on road runs. Details will be live soon on the website so please check regularly.

This Thursday it’s Social Run @ Glasshouse. We take a break in August so do join us for some summer running.
We’ll adjust the route if it’s super hot & of course the pace will gentle 🥵.
And perhaps a refreshing pint in the Cross Keys afterwards?

Last night’s Social Run @ Glasshouse led by Susan Susan Fletcher with a trusty crew joining in the heat. Apparently Susan’s face was so red that facial recognition didn’t recognise her on her own phone 🥵🤣.
An 8km route along shady trails & surprisingly few hills. Understandable and wise!

Last night’s Social Run @ Glasshouse - what a stunning evening!
Our 8.4km route took us along Shepherds Walk, down through Beechwoods, along to Tucking Mill (no telling off from the Wessex Water robot 😬), along the cycle path to Midford then via the fields to Combe Hay lane, up over the fields to Southstoke and finally across the plateau back to the start. 170m vertical elevation, boom 👊.
CAPTION COMPETITION (last pic) what is Matt .cook.3705 saying to the cows? Or maybe the cows are saying something to Matt? Get your entries in now…
