Dunmurry Golf Club

Men's Captain Shane McIlvenny held his Captain's Day yesterday, with members enjoying a fantastic day of golf, beautiful weather, and a great atmosphere around the club. ⛳

Shane was joined by his wife Michele in presenting the prizes to the winners at the end of a great week of golf.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and in particular to our overall Captain's Day winner, Niall Devlin, on a superb victory.

A huge thank you also to our generous sponsors, United Wines, Action Renewables, member Marty Flynn from Open College Network Northern Ireland and Tony Gracey, Stephen Gracey, and Jason McKinstry for their support of the day.

⛳ Team Results Update

Another strong week of inter-club golf saw our Dunmurry teams involved in some closely contested matches.

🏌️‍♂️ The Men's B&D team are through to the last 16 after a great win over Galgorm on the third tie hole. Special mention also to Junior Josh McAuley, who recorded his first senior win with an excellent 2&1 victory away at Galgorm.

🏌️‍♀️ The Women's Cowdy Cup team secured a hard-fought win over Spa, progressing by the narrowest of margins, 24.5 to 23.5 points. A huge well done to the whole team.

🏌️‍♀️ The Women's Revive team put up a hard fight away to Lisburn, narrowly missing out by just one point in a 4.5-3.5 defeat. With three matches reaching the 18th hole, the team can be incredibly proud of a great campaign this year.

Ahead of Men's Captain's Day next weekend, our Past Men's Captains came together on 11th June for their annual dinner.

They were joined by our 2026 Men's Captain, Shane McIlvenny, who will host his Captain's Day on Saturday 20th June.

Another weekend of inter-club action for our Dunmurry teams. ⛳️

Congratulations to our Men's Jimmy Bruen team, who secured an excellent 3-1 victory over Greenacres to continue their impressive run.

Our Women's Junior Cup team faced Whitehead away and were narrowly defeated 4-1. With the home leg at Dunmurry on 21st June, everything is still to play for.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be for our Irish Mixed Fourball team, who were beaten by Ballybofey. Well done to all players who represented the club.

Last week was another busy weekend of inter-club golf for Dunmurry, with plenty still to play for as the season continues. ⛳️

🏌️‍♀️ Our Women's Revive team took a 2.5-1.5 lead over Lisburn in the home leg of their match. The return leg takes place on 11th June, with everything still to play for.

🏌️‍♂️ The Junior Fred Daly team produced an excellent performance away to Lisburn, securing a 6-4 victory to progress to Round 3. Congratulations to all involved! 👏

🏌️‍♂️ The Men's Holt Shield team battled hard away to Ballymena but came up short, losing 7-5. Best of luck in the next match against Royal Belfast on Sunday 7th June.

Unfortunately, our Men's Junior Cup team were unable to qualify at Cairndhu, but well done to everyone who represented the club over the weekend.
