What an absolutely incredible day hosting 10 of our fantastic local schools! 🏫 The energy was unmatched, and every single student brought their A-game with outstanding teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship. 👏🤝

The competition was fierce this year, but a massive congratulations goes to St. Helen’s for championing the day and taking home 1st place! 🎊👑 What a spectacular performance!

🚨 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: GOOD LUCK, STEPH! 🚨

We are incredibly proud to share some massive news from one of our own! 🏋️‍♀️✨

Huge congratulations to the amazing Steph Olliffe, who qualified for the HYROX World Championships back in October at the Birmingham event! Steph is heading off to Stockholm on June 19th to compete against the best of the best on the world stage. 🌍✈️

This isn’t her first rodeo, either. After starting her HYROX journey in December 2023 in the open division, Steph quickly leveled up to the grueling Pro weights. This will be her second World Championships—last year in Chicago, she absolutely smashed it, finishing 8th in her age category and 2nd in the entire UK! 🇬🇧🔥

What exactly is Steph facing?
For those who don't know, a HYROX Pro race is an absolute test of hybrid fitness. It consists of 8 x 1km runs, alternating with 8 brutal functional fitness stations:

🛷 50m Sled Push (@ 153kg!)

🪵 50m Sled Pull (@ 103kg!)

🐸 80m Burpee Broad Jumps

🚣‍♂️ 1km Row

👨‍🌾 200m Farmers Carry (2 x 24kg)

🧗‍♀️ 100m Walking Lunges

🏀 100 Wall Balls (@ 6kg)

While Steph does her specific event training elsewhere, we are absolutely thrilled that she chooses Northam to compliment her world-class preparation by smashing out spin classes, using the gym, and getting those recovery laps in the pool. 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️

The dedication it takes to compete at this level is unreal, and the whole Northam community is right behind you, Steph. Bring on Stockholm! 🇸🇪💪

We are currently hiring for the following position:
✔️ Swim Teacher – Up to 10 hours per week

Swim Teacher Position Overview:
You will be conducting swimming lessons for participants of all skill levels, focusing on stroke development and water safety, while creating a fun and supportive environment.

Swim Teacher Requirements:
✅ Level 1 or Level 2 Swim Teacher qualification (Level 2 preferred)
✅ Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching
✅ Previous teaching experience is a bonus, but not essential!
