DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION!
We are running our next Development Competition on the 17th of October. Slightly later that usual, due to technical reasons.
These competition days are great for those starting out with competitions and those trying to develop competition skills.
We run them with keeping it friendly and fun in mind and not having too long to wait, unless you have children in more than one group etc.
We have our own café, 'Chelle's Kitchen', for breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks or just a nice area to wait for your turn, with games for the youngsters.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Heart of England 2026 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

A show of resilience and bravery from our team today down in Walsall. 8 Judoka bringing home 1 bronze, 4 Silver and 1 Gold medal 👏🏻

🥋 Harry fought brilliantly and secured himself a Silver medal 🥈
🥋 Scott stepped up to the mat to compete for the very first time and secured one great win.
🥋 Reece showed his confidence growing yet again and took a well earned Silver medal home 🥈
🥋Chris stepped up to the mat and successfully secured another 10 points towards his first Dan

In our younger judoka...
🥋 Aiden battled boys much older than him and despite some calls not going in his favour, he persevered to take Silver! 🥈
🥋 Brodie took a knock in one of her last fights, but picked herself back up and also took home a Silver medal! 🥈
🥋 Bence took everything in his stride once again and easily came home with a Gold medal 🏅
🥋 Isaac battled through his group of boys in a higher weight group bringing home a well earned Bronze 🥉

A very long and hot weekend in London at the English Closed Championships.
A fairly small contingent from the club made the journey to the capital for this years event.

On Day one, we had Bence, Isaac and Michael competing in the PreCadets.
Isaac fought very well throughout narrowly missing out on a medal in the U42kg weight group finishing 5th.
Michael, moving up to u55kg, had a good go at this level but couldn't secure a win.
Bence, at u34kg, made it look easy with 4 wins to take gold.🥇
We also had Daisy fighting, for the first time, in the u52kg Cadets. Her judo was excellent but a few silly mistakes in this sport can cost. 5th place is a great achievement and better thigs will come.

Day 2 saw Lewis fighting in his new age group at u60kg. He fought very well all day and was winning the Bronze medal match when he twisted his knee and had to withdraw. Another 5th place.
Reece was up next in the Senior u60kg category.
This was a massive step up for him and he was probably the lowest grade in the weight. He put a good fight but also couldn't get a win.
Last up was Ruby in the Senior u70kg division. A great first round win, took her to the semi finals. She was 2 scores up, and looking likely to get to yhe ginal when she was cought for 10. She went on to win the bronze medal match. 🥉

Training season is officially over. Time to show them what you've got! Best of luck to our Wirral judoka taking to the mats this weekend at the English Closed Championships down in London 💪🥋 We're all behind you!!

Can't believe its almost the end of our second summer camp! Its been a blast!

Nearly at the end of feeding our lovely little Judokas for their Judo summer camp this week...
They're making their own lunch today for a change haha!

A wonderful way to celebrate summer and all of the teamwork over the last year down at the dips today ☀️ lots of fun, food and games to end the summer before the new season starts and the hard work begins.

A real family affair tonight on our randori session with Fran, Caz and Maisie joining us on the mat. A whole lot of laughter and a little friendly competition 😅🫣 Well done ladies 👏🏻
