Arden Forest WFC

23/08/2026

A very tough game today against a really strong Sutton United side who we fully expect to be right up there in Tier 6 this season.

For the opening 30 minutes, we more than held our own. The girls defended like their lives depended on it, worked tirelessly for one another and showed exactly the spirit we want this team to be known for.

The result wasn’t what we wanted, but there is so much we will take away from today. The resilience, effort and attitude shown by every single player were everything we asked for and more.

Today was about testing ourselves, competing, learning and showing that we belong on this stage. We did exactly that, and we couldn’t be prouder of the group.

A special mention to our Vice Captain Lauren McLean, who picked up both Players’ Player and Managers’ Player of the Match after an absolutely outstanding performance. Fully deserved. Lauren Mclean

Our first-ever FA Cup game, a little bit of history made, and plenty to build on.

Up the Arnold! 💛💚

A fantastic performance from the girls in what was a really positive pre-season test. After a challenging summer that saw us lose a number of experienced players, it was great to see so many new faces settling in so quickly.

We’ve brought in some exciting young talent to compliment our existing squad, and today’s performance showed plenty of quality, energy and togetherness. There are still things to work on, but it’s an encouraging start and a great platform to build on for the season ahead.

⚽ Goalscorers:

* Keeley Geary x3
* Dee Farrell x2
* Hannah Smith

A big thank you to Inkberrow Girls and Ladies FC for a competitive and well-fought game. We wish them all the best for the season ahead. 💚💛
