U12s enjoyed another run out back at home for a rearranged fixture with CN Sports Tigresses u13s, keeping their unbeaten start to the phase with a 2-1 win.
We started the game well, passing the ball about and looking to catch out the CN defence with a couple of through balls, but CN took an early lead when their striker was sent through catching us on the break, Freddie T managed to get a tackle in but it fell to the winger who had a lot to do from the position and put it right into the top corner, a very well taken goal.
We continued to attempt to pass it into the space and one of these paid off, thanks to Archie sending a searching ball from right back into left wing area where Max was running into who was composed in the finish to equalise quickly.
The half ended 1-1 with both teams cancelling each other out in the middle of the field.
2nd half was much of the same both teams battling and pushing for the lead, both keepers being tested at several occasions and getting the better of the strikers, but it took another moment of brilliance by Archie, who won the ball on the right back position, steaming down the wing riding a few challenges and he put a wonderful ball into the area where Max again was in the right place to tap home.
We were able to see the game out but had a couple of chances to extend the lead but again the CN defence and GK were in excellent form.
Player of the Match was Dexter, playing through an injury but that didnt affect him, against a strong and quick team he used his body well and read the game very well to intercept and support his teammates, a great performance from him.
Parents POTM was Archie, 2 assists and also unlucky not to score himself on 2 occasions but his hardwork and determination helped the team to win and keep their run going.
