GOODBYE FROM YOUR 2025/26 CUDC COMMITTEE❤️🖤🫡

This past year in Dancesport has been so so so incredible, and we have been able to achieve amazing things like:
🌟 Another successful edition of ‘Strictly Come Dancesport’, in collaboration with over 10 other clubs & societies, raising £2180 for ‘Save The Children UK’
🌟 Starting a Salsa Formation team, competing in Dance Varsity and performing at our Strictly event
🌟 WINNING our Ballroom & Latin category at Dance Varsity🏆🤩
🌟 Attending 8 competitions - including a Salsa competition for the first time
🌟 Being nominated for 3 AU Awards
🌟 Gaining Gold Tier again as an AU club
🌟 Bringing back Social classes and welcoming Absolute Beginners in term 2
🌟 Holding regular collaboration classes and socials with other university clubs/societies - even from Swansea University

CUDC has continued to create and strengthen relationships with other university clubs and societies through our various events, growing our wonderful community all across Cardiff😌❤️ To all of you reading this, we hope to have brought you fun, joy and wonderful memories!!

It has been such an honour for us all on committee to lead the club this year. I know the incoming committee will work incredibly hard to allow CUDC to keep thriving - best of luck to you, and I hope you enjoy your time on committee as much as I enjoyed mine!!

Thank you for all the love and support you have all shown myself and the rest of committee this past year. Being on committee will forever be one of our favourite and memorable university experiences!! Have a wonderful rest of summer - hope to see lots of you again very very soon🤩🤭

Here’s some of us celebrating our club’s success this year at the 2026 AU Ball!

We were lucky enough to have 3 nominations this year:

🏆CLUB OF THE YEAR

We are also so proud of our president, Emmy Ng Wing Lit, for receiving 🏆CLUB HONOURS🏆 this year! This is awarded to the person who has contributed most significantly to the success of the club during this academic year, going above and beyond hair call of duty. It is the highest recognition that can be awarded to any student for their contribution to their sports club and the Athletic Union. As our president and AU executive committee member, she thoroughly deserved this award and we are so proud❤️

DANCESPORT SPRING BALL 2026💐🪭👑

Thank you everyone so much for attending our annual end of year ball! This year we had a Bridgerton themed ball organised by our events officer Libby!❤️ She did a fabulous job of organising so thank you!✨🪩

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DANCE DAY🪩💃

This is a really special day where we all celebrate our love of dance! Dance has brought so much joy, memories and friendships to all of our lives and we wouldn’t be the same without it❤️

We are incredibly privileged to be able to welcome new people to the world of dance each year and spread the love🌟💞

WEEK 24🌟

As we approach exam season, we are sad to announce that this is our last week of classes😥

There may be the odd social class/dance going forward but other than that we are wrapping up for the year! It’s been an incredible year and we look forward to seeing everyone back soon!❤️

Our lovely wellbeing officer Miaya will be hosting a wellbeing picnic next weekend to give us all a well deserved break from all our deadlines/exams! Fingers crossed the weather is on our side! If not, we will look at some alternatives☀️🧺
