As part of our charitable mission to improve health and wellbeing, we’re committed to making our facilities, leisure centres, and event venues more inclusive and accessible for all.

From dedicated SEN sessions to adapted BH Live Active activities, we’re providing more opportunities for individuals and families who benefit from quieter, more supportive environments to get active and feel their best.

Across our cultural programmes and venues, we also offer relaxed and captioned performances throughout the year, alongside group concessions for schools, community groups, and more. These all help make arts and entertainment more accessible to everyone.

Day 4: Employment and Skills 💙

Being means investing in people, creating opportunities, building skills, and listening to the voices that shape our organisation.

At BH Live, our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do. Teams across the business help influence real change, from shaping our benefits to contributing to wider business decisions. It’s part of how we stay connected and ensure every voice is heard.

Being means going beyond our own charitable mission; it’s about supporting the communities around us.

Working alongside local and national charities, we’re proud to help raise vital funds and awareness through events, partnerships, and shared initiatives, including Julia's House Children's Hospice, Naomi House & Jacksplace, Macmillan Cancer Support, BBC Children in Need, Comic Relief, and more ✨

From free events like Littledown Family Fun Day to Christmas markets, concerts, free open days, and sporting competitions, we're also bringing people together to connect and give back to their local community while raising awareness of local businesses, clubs, organisations, and grassroots talent.

Day 2: Health & Wellbeing 💙

We’re proud to support healthier, happier communities every day.

Across our BH Live Active leisure centres in Dorset and Hampshire, our facilities and programmes are helping to reduce pressure on health services by supporting people from all backgrounds, including those with long-term conditions, to stay active and improve their wellbeing.

Through live entertainment and cultural experiences, we’re also boosting mental wellbeing, offering moments of escapism, connection, and shared joy through music, theatre, comedy, dance and more.

Here are just a few ways we’re making a difference:

💪 Specialist programmes supporting people living with or recovering from conditions such as Parkinson’s, COPD, cancer and menopause

🎭 Outreach funds at Bournemouth Pavilion and Fairfield Halls – providing free panto tickets for pupils receiving free school meals, funded by audience generosity

🏊 Free swimming initiatives – for under-5s at BH Live Active pools in Bournemouth and Southampton and under-12s in Portsmouth

🎫 Cost-accessible events and performances – including concessions, group rates, student discounts, and complimentary tickets through our Access Scheme

Day 1: People Above Profit 💙

Did you know... that as a registered charity and social enterprise, every penny of surplus we generate is reinvested back into our communities, not paid to shareholders?

📣 That means every pound our visitors spend with us goes further, supporting healthier, more active, and more connected communities across our region.

We have so many fantastic investments to celebrate over the past 12 months, but here are a few highlights:

🍵 New and improved café facilities open to all at BH Live Active, Sir David English and Mountbatten Leisure Centre

⚽ Brand-new football pitches at BH Live Active, Pelhams, supporting local clubs and encouraging grassroots sport

🌱 Sustainable upgrades across our venues and leisure centres, including solar panels, EV charging points, pool covers, and more

🧡 Expanded junior activity programmes, including new inflatable attractions at Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Pelhams Leisure Centre, and Charter Community Sports Centre

🚸 Inclusive SEND sessions, plus a brand-new sensory room at Exploria - Explore a world of fun and wonder (funded by Portsmouth City Council)

✨Brand-new meeting rooms and conference spaces at Bournemouth International Centre (funded in partnership with BCP Council)

This year, we're proud to support Community Leisure UK's campaign to spread awareness about how charitable trusts and social enterprises connect communities, put people above profit, and support the social economy 💙

Our health and wellbeing team at BH Live Active, Littledown is celebrating the successful launch of its Rise and Shine programme ✨

Designed to support and inspire women through every phase of menopause, the programme offers an inclusive, friendly space where women can build confidence, connect with others, and stay active.

Participants shared some fantastic feedback;

🌟 “It’s been brilliant to try all the different activities; I’d never even tried an exercise class before this programme."

🌟 “It’s a great insight into the different group exercise classes on offer in the centre, and they’ve really complimented my regular fitness routine.”

🌟 "The sessions are brilliant. I have so much more energy and feel so good after participating in the classes."

Thanks to the programme’s success, more classes are launching this month. Spaces are still available, with the six‑week course costing just £20 per person.

We're proud to have recently hosted the Institute of Health Visiting's (iHV) Evidence-based Practice 2026 conference at Bournemouth International Centre.

It was a fantastic event, bringing together hundreds of delegates from across the UK for a day of learning, collaboration and inspiration 💡

Our conferences, exhibitions, and operations teams created a vibrant and engaging atmosphere throughout the venue, with delegates participating in iHV’s comprehensive programme that highlighted the latest research, innovations and best practice in health visiting.

Events of this scale showcase Bournemouth as a destination of choice for business events while also supporting local employment, sustaining jobs across hospitality, retail, and the wider visitor economy 💙

We’ve officially opened a brand-new Reformer Pilates studio, complete with Freemotion Fitness equipment, at BH Live Active, Pyramids in Southsea.

Delivered in partnership with Portsmouth City Council, this latest investment supports our shared ambition to expand inclusive, high-quality fitness opportunities and help more people across the city
improve their health and wellbeing 🧘‍♀️

Whether seasoned Pilates pros or brand-new to fitness, we can't wait to welcome visitors from across the city to enjoy this amazing new facility 💙

We were recently invited to a special celebration at BCP Council's Town Hall, recognising the outstanding actions of our team at BH Live Active, Sir David English, whose quick thinking and CPR skills helped one of our customers during a medical incident last year.

First aid and emergency resuscitation training is something our team practises regularly, so we’re always ready to act when it matters most. Moments like this remind us just how important that training is ❤️

We’re incredibly proud of Rik, Chloe, Tom, and our wider team who supported on the day. Well done! 👏
