ESPADA Fencing Club is based in Bournemouth Poole. The Club provides fun fencing and coaching for both beginners and more experienced fencers in all three weapons (Foil Epeé and Sabre.) We fence twice a week at two different venues (Littledown sports centre [Fridays] & The scout hut, Adastral Road, Canford Heath [Tuesdays]) and is open to all ages and abilities. Uhlmann Fencing is going out of business and will fully discontinue operations on 31 October 2026. Production stops in September, so if you prefer Uhlmann blades or kit, make sure to order what you need from their clearance stock as soon as possible!

🌡️ Amber Heat Reminder – Stay Hydrated! ⚔️
Fencing sessions will continue as normal on Tuesday and Friday.
With the current amber heat conditions, we would like to remind all members to take extra care and stay well hydrated before, during and after training. British Fencing's hot weather guidance recommends bringing plenty of water, considering electrolytes, taking regular breaks, and removing or loosening kit when not actively fencing. Younger fencers should be especially encouraged to drink regularly.
✅ Bring a full water bottle (or two!) ✅ Consider sports drinks or electrolytes ✅ Take regular hydration breaks ✅ Change out of sweaty clothing where possible ✅ Let coaches know if you feel unwell, dizzy, or excessively fatigued

🤺 Great to spend the evening at Salisbury Fencing Club!
A huge thank you to Salisbury Fencing Club for accommodating us and making us feel so welcome. It was fantastic to share some fencing, exchange ideas, and enjoy some great bouts with such a friendly group of fencers.
We're already looking forward to the next opportunity to meet on the piste again. In the meantime, if any of your fencers fancy a trip down to Bournemouth during the summer holidays, you'd be more than welcome to visit us at Espada Fencing Club for some training, sparring, and fencing fun!
Thanks again for the warm hospitality, and we hope to see you all again soon. 🤺

We'll be running our new Beginner Fencing Course starting from 12/6 for both Junior (starts at 7pm) and Senior (starts at 8pm) , so if you know anyone interested in trying fencing, they're very welcome to join us.
If anyone would like to fence at Salisbury Fencing Club on Wednesday, please send us a message via Facebook. We can let the club know numbers in advance and may be able to arrange shared transport.
Foilists are also welcome at Club Escrime Wi******er, but attendance is by invitation only, so please let Alfred or James know beforehand.

What started as a quick weapon repair turned into an unexpected armoury workshop last night, with experienced club members passing on sword-fixing skills to parents.
Keeping weapons competition-ready is an essential part of fencing, and it's great to see more families learning the tricks of the trade.
The best clubs don't just develop fencers—they share knowledge too.
