Today we made the trip to Bradford Academy to face Odsal Rangers in a massive occasion for both clubs.

Crown started the game really well and set the tone early going 1-0 up when a well positioned Elro slotted home a loose ball in the box. The boys carried on their great start and soon doubled their lead through another smart finish from Kai who found space in the box to slot home. The boys were not done yet and close to half time Mason made it three with a brilliant piece of individual skill leaving the Odsal defender in a heap and the ball in the back of the net. The fourth came through a Farrar penalty which he won himself after being brought down in the box, the penalty slotted home never in doubt.

The second half was a bit more cagey and Odsal did grow into the game but the lads stood firm and went and got themselves a 5th goal with some lovely build up play, Farrar flicked on for Pacos who ran down the wing and teed Tyler up perfectly to slot home.

Every single player put their all into making this result happen and they left everything on the pitch. A quality display. Crown take the bragging rights in the first game that matters between the clubs.
Man of match- Tyler Ratnik (gaffer)
Dick of day- Owen greaves, dill

With no league game scheduled for us today, we made the short trip over to Westwood to face Shelf in a friendly.

The boys started the game well and took an early lead through a routine Farrar finish. This was then doubled quickly after a beautiful ball by Sonnie was finished cleverly by Kai. We then got another before half time capitalising on a mix up from Shelf’s keeper and defender, Cole stole the ball and teed up Farrar to slot into an open net.

We took a 3-1 lead into the second half and this soon became 4 and 5 with 2 more clever finishes from Kai completing his hat trick! The boys then finished off the scoring with Adeel getting his first goal for the club after a delightful cross from Farrar setting him up perfectly to slot in from close range.

A very good overall performance from the boys, 90 more minutes in the tank and a chance for everyone to get some minutes.

We return to league action next Sunday where we face Odsal Rangers in a huge first league game between the clubs.

Another good win for Crown now leading us to 3 wins in 3 games after a 4-0 win against gomersal & cleckheaton, the day started with an instant mess up where teams have been double booked and playing on our home pitch so we reversed the game and played away from home yet again!! The boys stepped up anyways and started the game strongly creating chances early on but nothing coming from them, our foot then stepped off the gas where we allowed some slack chances and mistakes lead to gomersal having a lot of the ball and creating chance after chance where dockers made some great saves to keep us in at 0-0, danny farrar broke the deadlock half way into the first half with another cracker of a finish taking us into half time at 1-0, second half came and it was utter control from crown again where it was only a matter of time we scored another but in a shock decision by the ref after a gomersal corner a penalty was awarded but yet again the big man in net (chairman) stepped up and made a huge save off the pen, the game remained 1-0 with crown pushing to finish it off where a flick on from a long ball fell to Dan hunt in the box who very calmly slotted his goal away, we then had shots blocked off the line, keeper making save after save to keep it at 2-0 but then the top scorer of the league stepped up once again and finished the game off capping himself with a hat trick and giving crown a big 4-0 win 🏆 we now have a couple weeks rest before we then play odsal in our next league fixture and the boys are going to be well up for this one too

This Sunday, Crown AFC play host to Gomersal & Cleckheaton in our first home game of the 26/27 Sunday alliance season.

After two wins in a row on the road, the boys are absolutely fired up to carry on this form and make it 3 wins out of 3, and collect our first home points as a club.

This will be a tough game against another strong outfit and the boys know full well they will have to be focused from the off to come away with a victory.

Please come down and show your support if you can and join us back at our home pub The Crown in Wyke for a drink after the game!

Marsh Inn vs Crown AFC

Crown AFC came away with a hard-fought 3–2 victory away to Marsh Inn in a competitive Sunday League fixture.

Both teams put in a strong performance today, with plenty of quality football and determination shown throughout the game. Crown started positively and were rewarded for their efforts with Danny Farrar scoring first goal of the game, finishing well after an assist from Tyler Ratnik ⚽️

Crown continued to push forward and soon found themselves with a second goal. Danny Farrar grabbed his second of the game, with Kai Armitage providing the assist from a free kick ⚽️

At the other end, Alife Widdop was exceptional in goal for Crown, making saves to keep his side in control and giving the team a solid foundation to build from.

Going into the second half, the boys came out with a positive attitude, Marsh Inn fought back strongly, and after conceding a couple of goals, Crown found themselves level at 2–2.

With the game heading towards its final stages, Crown dug deep and made one final push. Their determination paid off when Marsh Heaton found the back of the net to score the winning goal, with Tyler Ratnik once again providing the assist ⚽️

A fantastic team performance from Crown AFC. The boys showed strength and resilience throughout the match, and the morale within the squad was excellent from start to finish.

A great 3–2 away win and the perfect way to start a Bank Holiday Sunday! ⚽️💪
