The lads went into this one hoping to build on a well earned draw against Red Lion FC last week. An evenly matched first half saw both teams go in at the break at 0-0 with both teams having good spells in the half. Greengates opened the scoring soon after the restart but the lads took this on the chin and not long after got a brilliant equaliser through a wonder strike by Cole Brownbill Unfortunately the lads weren’t able to capitalise on the momentum and greengates retook the lead through a brilliant goal of their own.

This was unfortunately all overshadowed by a nasty injury to our RB Taylor New which left the ref no choice but to end the game with around 10 minutes to go. Taylor was taken to hospital for treatment and is now well and on the mend. We would like to offer a huge thank you to all at Greengates for all their help with this and their messages of well wishes for Taylor. A great example of how the football community can come together.

Overall a decent performance, brilliant in spells but a lot to still work on. The hard work on the training ground is starting to come through and the lads will be desperate to get that first win vs rastrick this Sunday.

Today we took a short trip over to emsley rec to face championship side red lion, in a very end to end game in the first half we saw ourselves trailing at the half time mark off a mistake by ourselves, the boys knew what the intent was from the start to get the ball down and play football, 5 minutes into the second half Dan Hunt stepped up and scored his first goal for the club which then seen us take control of the game for the second half where with 10 to go red lion were shown two red cards, the boys carried on pushing for the winning goal till the end but sadly it didn’t come but really positive result after some recent upsets 🔥and also a special thank you to our Matchday sponsor
