Valley suffer last minute disappointment.
After last weekends emphatic result Valley looked to take the same performance and attitude into this weekends game.
The first 20 minutes was all Skipton as Valley looked disjointed and struggled to get a foothold in the game which was capitalised on as the hosts took a 1-0 lead.
Valley then settled into the game and managed to soak up some pressure and hit back on the counter attack causing issues and having a goal disallowed but not managing to level proceedings.
After half time the game continued in a similar manner with Skipton having the majority of possession while Valley were happy to sit in and try take the opportunities when they came. Which is exactly what they did as Joel Oxford capitalised on a defensive error and raced through 1 on 1 to calmly slot his chance around the goalkeeper.
Skipton then took a very late lead after their attacker neatly brought down the ball on the edge of the box and slotted it into the bottom corner of the Valley goal.
Despite Valleys best efforts to force a late goal it wasn’t meant to be as Skiptons defenders managed to make some good blocks at a crucial time to see the game out.
We now look to another away game at Rolls next weekend.
