Great away day yesterday as our 1sts travelled to Leeds City. A quiet first half saw few chances, with credit to Leedsβ young keeper for some excellent saves.
A strong halftime team talk from manager James Hitch made the difference, as Whitestar came out firing in the second half to score four unanswered goals. Jake βBondβ Manditsch struck twice in quick succession, followed by a goal from , before .11 put the game to bed.
Two huge games left, both at homeβagainst a strong Robin Hood Athletic side and a well-drilled Kellingley Welfare FC. Promotion to the West Yorkshire Premier League is on the line.
What a journey these lads are on πΈπ΄πΈπ΄

The local derby ends in a draw with a well-fought game by both sets of players, but it was the young talent in both teams that set the scene, with both (16) for Whitestar and (17) gaining the M.O.M. for both teams, , but the visitors went ahead after 15 minutes, only for Kyle Sharp to equalize through a penalty for Silsden. , another 17-year-old, put Whitestar ahead, only for Page to take the tie to 2-2, and thatβs how it finished. Some great young talent was on show; the future is looking bright for local football around the area. ππ»πΈπ΄ππΌππΌ

Two tough results on paper todayβbut two very different stories.
The 2nds continue to show massive improvement, settling into a strong, positive structure and moving in the right direction π
The 1sts, however, stunk the place out at Kirk Deighton. After going 2β0 up, the Wetherby side hit back with five unanswered goals. A real βbad day at the officeββwe just werenβt at it in the second half, as James Hitch said.
The one positive: other league results went our way, and promotion to the WYL Prem is still in our hands πΈπ΄

Whitestar bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought victory over Bardsey FC, who are battling at the foot of the table.
We started brightly, with top scorer Will Beresford opening the scoring thanks to a clinical finish. Bardsey responded to level things, but Beresford struck again to restore the lead. Soon after, Ausar grabbed his first goal for the club to give us breathing room.
Bardsey came out strong after the break and added to their tally, but Whitestar dug deep and held on to secure all three pointsβmoving us up to 4th in the league.
