A chance for the boys to put all the hard work of pre-season into practice, compete for places, and kick off the season the right way.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of John White, better known to so many of us as Scoop.

If you’ve spent any time around Combination Rugby, you’ll know just how much John cared about our game and the people in it. Whether it was behind the camera, writing match reports, or simply supporting clubs week in, week out, his passion for grassroots rugby was second to none.

Thank you, John, for everything you did to promote our sport and for the countless memories you captured along the way. Your dedication, kindness and unwavering support meant so much to so many.

Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

You will be greatly missed by all of us and the entire rugby community.

🚌 Next up, we travel to newly promoted Trowbridge 💙💛 after they romped to the league title last season. Another fierce encounter awaits as our squad is put through its paces. 💥💪

⚔️ Then it’s another huge test as the 1st XV head to fellow Level 5 contenders Royal Wootton Bassett. Two ambitious clubs going head-to-head as we continue to raise our standards. 🔥

🏉 On the same day, our United side travel to Bristol Harlequins 2nd XV, ensuring another competitive afternoon across the club. 👊

We’re absolutely delighted to announce the signing of Tom Park ahead of the new season! 🔥

An exciting and experienced scrum-half, Tom joins Cleve RFC having represented clubs including Dings Crusaders, LooseHeads RFC, and even Jamaica on the international stage.

Bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, game management, and a relentless competitive edge, Tom is a huge addition to the squad. His quality around the breakdown, sharp decision-making, and ability to control the tempo of the game will add another dimension to our attack as we prepare for an exciting season in Regional 2.

Everyone at Cleve is thrilled to welcome Tom to The Hayfields, and we can’t wait to see him in the maroon, black and white.

We’re delighted to welcome Simon “Clarkey” Clarke to as our new Assistant Coach for the 2026/27 season! 💥🏉

Clarkey arrives with a wealth of coaching experience, having previously coached at Yate RFC and Broad Plain RFC, as well as serving as a former RFU Community Coach. His knowledge, passion for player development, and understanding of the grassroots game will be a huge asset to the club.

With United stepping up to Counties 3 this season, the challenge ahead is bigger than ever. Simon will play a pivotal role alongside the coaching team as we prepare the squad for the demands of a higher level and continue building a competitive, ambitious environment.

His experience in developing players and creating high-performing teams makes him an exciting addition, and we’re confident he’ll have a major impact both on and off the field.
