What a great project to support ♥️☀️
We’re excited to update you on our 1960s-built pavilion refurbishment, upgrading our changing rooms to make the club more welcoming and accessible for players, visitors, and spectators of all genders and abilities.
Our goals?
🥅 INCREASE the club's capacity to meet the needs of a growing population.
🥅 SMASH down barriers to play for female players! Our amazing women and girls teams have no safe space to play. In September new Under 9 and 11 girls football teams from Frampton Rangers will play on Whiteshill Common, so this is for them, too!
🥅 INCLUDE everyone. We need step-free access, accessible changing facilities and a lift to the first floor to make the club inclusive for some disabled players, visitors and spectators. 🥅 DELIVER a sustainable building, with plans for renewable energy, like solar panels, an air source heat pump, and rainwater harvesting to flush toilets and help manage stormwater flooding.
Our hope for the future of the club is to deliver a building that can provide even more opportunities to play sport and enjoy social and wellbeing activities for our surrounding communities.
We’ve applied for Section 106 funding – available from as a result of local housing development. We’re working with Place by Design architects on the plans pinned to the noticeboard in the club. You can also see these on our blog.
A massive project! We need funding from multiple sources to deliver the planned upgrades. As well as the Section 106 funding we are applying for funding from , , , , and . Some of these funders operate on a match funding basis – meaning they will only match what we can raise ourselves.
We’re asking you to
🫶 SUPPORT our crowdfunder campaign – you can also do your own fundraising for the club (sponsored keepie-uppies anyone?) by linking on this campaign. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/hambrook-sports-club-accessible-pavilion
📤 TELL US if your business can support with sponsorship or employee funding opportunities. (e.g. Aviva and Nationwide will match your fundraising)
🛠️ SHARE YOUR SKILLS if you’re a tradie, have project management experience, can help us get the word out, or fundraise in some other way.
✅ SUPPORT the project when we apply for planning permission.
👷🏽👷🏻👷🏻 TENDER – we’re looking for experienced contractors to deliver the work, and would love to hear from people who have delivered large commercial projects like this. If that’s you, please contact the Sports Club Chair, Naomi Bowler [email protected].
