It seems crazy to me that there are people out there on the front line of our emergency services that don’t do any form of self defence training.

In my opinion, ALL police officers should train at least jiu jitsu, and probably some striking or MMA training too.

There are some very dangerous and very nuts people out there, it always serves well to be prepared.

Anyway, if you or someone you care about works for any of the services listed on the poster, or is a veteran of the armed forces, send them this post and get them on the mat. You never know, it could save their life one day!

Busy weekend for the team! 🥵

First up we had making his long awaited return to the ring after years out of the competition game. He’s built an amazing following online and runs his own boxing gym in the city centre, and Saturday night was his first step into taking over the influencer boxing game with a first round KO.

His opponent was a bit of a clown, but that’s what we are going to get in that game. All round it was a weird but good experience 🤣 Job done, onto bigger and better things 🚀

Then today we had a team out competing in Blackpool on 🤼

The man, the myth, THE NIGHTHAWK took gold in his division winning all matches by submission, including that fu***ng lovely armbar 😮‍💨 Not many bluebells, especially at 18 years old, are close to his level 🔥

took bronze in his first grappling comp, winning by submission and losing to the eventual division and Darren got silver in the gi! Mad to say we never train in it 🥋 Big respect for getting stuck in boys!

Also out today we had and competing on at 👊 Both lads banked valuable experience and looked good doing it, we will be looking to get them both locked in for their MMA debuts at some point this year 👌

All in all, a belting weekend for Team Smooth. Go on the boyos 💙

Great performances last night by all of the lads that competed in interclub ‘Elevate’ 🔥

Young opened the show with his first ever taste of competition and looked composed, confident and skillful over 3 rounds of junior MMA 👌

Next up went 3 rounds with the worlds biggest teenager and had some really impressive moments and showed resilience when things weren’t going his way. Great match.

Then .mcr went 3 rounds against an older and very skilful opponent, struggled to get going a bit but yesterday was a personal victory for Fred after badly breaking his leg in the gym a year or so ago, so getting back into training and now competition so fast has been incredible to see. Top attitude bro.

Finally and .mckie_ stole the show with their matches. Both looked levels above their opponents and even though all bouts were no desison, skills matches, it was very promising to see the level they both showed. Complete domination and it will be very interesting to see where these boys take things moving forwards 🙏🚀
