And that’s a wrap for Wednesday evenings on the water 🌅⛵🏆

Tonight saw the finale of our Wednesday Autumn Pursuit Series 2026 and the end of another brilliant season of Wednesday evening racing at Elton.

It was a tough one to finish on, with the wind not exactly playing ball, but everyone made the most of it and it was great to see the series through to the end.

It was also brilliant to see some of our juniors getting involved, both out sailing and helping with safety cover, exactly the kind of thing we love to see at Elton. 💙

Thank you as always to everyone who has raced, covered duties, helped on the water and made our Wednesday evenings what they are.

We were extremely delighted to welcome a group of guests, through Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, for a special sailing taster session.

The day was all about making sailing more accessible and giving everyone the opportunity to get out on the water, try something new and enjoy the experience in a safe and supportive environment.

It was also lovely to have the Mayor join us to welcome our guests and help make the day feel even more special.

A huge thank you to everyone at Elton who gave their time to help with the sailing, safety cover, organisation and everything else that went into making the day happen. 💙

And a very special thank you to Stacey and Irene for keeping everyone so well fed — the pies were absolutely delicious! 🥧👏

Days like this are a brilliant reminder of what community sailing can be: welcoming, inclusive and open to everyone.

We really hope there’ll be many more days like this to come. ⛵💙

Another cracking Tuesday Working Party 💪⛵️

The grass has been cut — Old Trafford standard, obviously 😂🌱
More clearing and tidying around the boat parks, plenty of jobs ticked off, and another absolutely superb lunch to keep everyone going. 👌

Meanwhile, the dogs had clearly decided they’d contributed enough and were more interested in chilling out and supervising proceedings 🐶😂

A huge thank you, as always, to everyone who gives up their Tuesday to keep Elton looking its best. You make such a difference every single week 💙

And seeing as it’s officially September… there was really only one soundtrack for this one 🎶🕺✨

A huge thank you to everyone who came down today! We know lots of you are away enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, so it was lovely to still have such a good turnout. And a big thank you to our Social Committee for pulling together the impromptu BBQ 🍗👏

But now to the star of the show… Tim Cooper! 🏆⛵️

After plenty of trying, Tim has done it and taken the Late Summer Handicap Series win — a very well-deserved first series victory!

What. A. Summer! ☀️⛵️💙

We’ve been SO busy — sailing, laughing, learning, racing, BBQs, sunshine, not-so-much sunshine 😂 and just the best atmosphere down at the club.

There’s something pretty special about summer evenings and weekends spent on the water, and this year has been an absolute belter. 💙

Our RYA Level 1 & 2 course is coming up next weekend — the perfect way to get started, build your confidence and get yourself out on the water.

Here’s to a brilliant summer at Elton Sailing Club… and we’re definitely not done yet! ☀️⛵️🥂

🌙✨ MOON FESTIVAL – FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER ✨🌙

Our Moon Festival is coming to Elton Sailing Club from 6pm on Friday 25 September.

If you’re wondering what the Moon Festival actually is, it’s a relaxed family evening by the reservoir with food, children’s activities, moon-themed fun and a few magical touches along the way. 🌙🧙‍♀️✨

We’ll have jacket potatoes with fillings, children’s hot dogs, fairy moon cakes, decorate-your-own fairy cakes, rock painting, moon water wishes and plenty more going on throughout the evening.

Adults – £5
Children – £3
Family ticket – £15 (2 adults + 2 children)

Some activities will have a small additional charge.

🎟️ Raffle tickets are on sale now for £1 each, available from the bar or any member of the Social Committee, with the draw taking place at the Moon Festival

Bring a blanket or camping chair, wrap up warm and come and spend the evening by the water with us.

Members will be able to book through the club website very soon. If you’re not a member and would like to come, just send us a message and we’ll help you arrange your tickets. 🌙✨

Another productive day for our Tuesday Works Gang! 💪⛵
The sheds have had a spruce-up, work is continuing on the boat and the boat park has been strimmed and cut back . We’ve also improved the disabled parking bay to make it clearer—and much prettier! 🌸
Our paddleboards now have a brand-new storage facility too. As always, plenty achieved and finished off with a great catch-up and lunch together.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and got stuck in! 👏
