A north-easterly breeze of 6–7mph is forecast for Sunday, with gusts reaching 19mph, so there could be some interesting conditions out on the water! 💨

A very windy one today, so plenty of indoor jobs tackled!

The storerooms have all had a serious declutter and deep clean, the boat park is making great progress, the drains have been cleared and, of course, sandwiches were eaten! 🥪

We’re also tracing old trailers to reunite them with their owners or sell them to raise club funds. If you have a trailer at the club that you no longer use, please get in touch!

A huge thank you to everyone who mucked in today. Another productive Tuesday! 👏

🎀 CHARITY TRIVIA NIGHT – WITH LIVE MUSIC! 🎶

We’ve got a fantastic evening lined up at Elton Sailing Club, all in support of a brilliant cause! 💕

Hannah, Emilie and Heidi are taking on an incredible challenge in July 2027, trekking 100km through the Peak District in one go to raise £1,500 for Breast Cancer Now! 🥾⛰️

To help them reach their fundraising target, they’re hosting a charity Trivia Night at the club, and we’d love as many of you as possible to come along and show your support!

🧠 Trivia Night – Gather your cleverest friends (or just your most competitive ones!) and put your knowledge to the test!

💷 Just £6 per team, with a maximum of 4 people per team!

🎶 Live Music – We’re delighted to welcome back Cut of the Jib, featuring our very own Hannah! The band are firm favourites with our members, so we’re in for a treat!

🎁 Grand Raffle – With some fantastic prizes generously donated by local businesses, including Tre Ciccio, The Little Leopard, DanaMarie Holistics, Ritual, Juniper & Vine, ALY Barbers, GirlHub and many more!

Club Championships at Elton today! ⛵🏆

A brilliant day of racing, and great to see so many new faces out on the water giving the usual suspects a real run for their money!

It was also lovely to see some of our younger sailors getting out on the water this afternoon.

A fantastic turnout across the whole day, with plenty of people down at the club both sailing and supporting from the shore. Thanks to everyone who came along and made Club Champs such a great day!

🍂⛵ WHAT’S COMING UP AT ELTON

October is shaping up to be another busy month at Elton, with plenty of opportunities to get out on the water; whether you’re racing, still building confidence or just fancy a social sail.

🏆 Sunday 4th October – Club Championship
Our Club Championship is a one-day event, with the first race starting at 12pm.

We’d love to see a great turnout, including some of our newer members. If you’re not quite ready to head out alone, there’ll be opportunities to buddy up in a double-hander with a more experienced sailor.

⛵ Saturday 10th October – Junior & Social Sailing Day
Junior sailing and social sailing from 12pm, with experienced instructors on hand to support newer and less confident sailors.

A great chance to get some time on the water in a relaxed setting.

🏁 Sunday 11th October – Autumn Series, Day 4
The Autumn Series continues with another Sunday of club racing.

👥⛵ Sunday 18th October – Wayfarer Invitation & Double-Hander Day
Our Wayfarer sailors are inviting as many double-handers as possible to join them for the day.

Newer sailors and juniors are encouraged to buddy up with an experienced sailor, so it’s a brilliant opportunity to try double-handed sailing and get involved.

Prefer your single-hander? No problem; normal sailing will still be taking place too.

🎨 Wednesday 28th October – Painting Evenings Begin
Geoff’s Wednesday evening painting sessions start this month, running from 7pm–9pm.

Sessions are £5, with half going to charity and half to club funds. Beginners are very welcome although places are limited now due to popular demand.

Plenty of sailing, plenty of opportunities to get involved and, as always, plenty of time for a catch-up in the clubhouse too. 💙

Another productive Tuesday at Elton! 💪⛵

There’s still plenty to do on the boat park, but it’s looking so much better now!

The boat Will’s been working on is really starting to take shape, Irene is forever cooking up something delicious, and as always there’s been plenty of tea, plenty of laughs… and even a little bit of accounting thrown in for good measure! 😂☕📚

A huge thank you to everyone who keeps turning up, getting stuck in and helping to make such a difference around the club. 💙
