Next up in our Meet the Team series is Chris - who has been teaching swimming for a whopping 20 years! 😬 4 of those with BSA.

If there’s one thing you’ll quickly learn about Chris, it’s that his lessons are all about FUN. There’s rarely a quiet lesson when Chris is around 😂

But behind all the fun is something really important - building confident, capable swimmers without them even realising just how much they’re learning along the way.

💦 How would our team describe BSA in just 3 words?

We asked them… and we think their answers sum us up pretty well 🥰

Fun. Caring. Team. 💙

But when we asked what they love most about teaching at BSA, there was a bit of a theme…

Our small classes mean our teachers can really get to know their swimmers, adapt their teaching and give each child the support they need to learn, progress and build confidence in the water.

And, of course, have plenty of fun while they’re doing it!

We might be biased, but we think Team BSA is a pretty lovely place to learn to swim 💙

Happy National Fitness Day! 🏊‍♀️

Swimming is a brilliant way to keep active by building strength, stamina and confidence while getting the whole body moving.

But for us, it’s about so much more than fitness.

Swimming is a life skill. Every kick, float and length helps our swimmers become more confident and capable in the water - skills they can carry with them for life.

So this National Fitness Day, we’re celebrating keeping active AND learning a skill that really matters 💙

We know that every swimmer is different and sometimes a little more individual support can make all the difference.

Georgie offers 1-to-1 SEND swimming lessons, as well as 2-to-1 lessons with a friend or family member – creating a supportive environment where lessons can be tailored to the swimmer and taken at their own pace 🩵

Whether the goal is building water confidence, learning new skills or simply feeling happy and comfortable in the pool, we’re here to help.

☀️ This summer the team swapped the swimming pool for a few different adventures!

🛶 Georgina has been canoeing along the River Dordogne 🇫🇷
🐐 Chris & Stacie have had a VERY animal-filled summer – plus a trip to see Gladiators Live! 💪
🌊 Sarah has been soaking up the sunshine at Lake Lipno in the Czech Republic and Nin Beach in Croatia
🎡 Bryony has been braving the fairground rides with Rupert and took baby Stanley for his very first official swim! 🥹🏊‍♂️
📸 And the whole BSA team managed to reunite for an exciting content day – we hope you’ve spotted some of our lovely new photos popping up on our socials already! 👀

Now… who’s ready to swap the beaches, boats and goats for the swimming pool again next week?

✨Why I started Bryony’s Swimming Academy✨

I’ve loved teaching swimming for as long as I can remember. I started coaching at just 14 years old and gained my teaching qualifications at 16.

After working as a lifeguard, swimming teacher and in a nursery, I took the leap to become a full-time swimming instructor. Later, while working as a Swimming Coordinator, I discovered I loved organising lessons and supporting families just as much as teaching in the pool.

That’s when I knew I wanted to start my own swim school.

It all began with just me teaching at our Over pool, and before long Bryony’s Swimming Academy grew into the fantastic team of 7 we have today, with lessons across Over and Witchford. 🏊‍♀️

I still love teaching whenever I can, but I also love working behind the scenes to make sure every swimmer has the best possible experience.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far! 💙

💙 Hi, I’m Bryony, the owner of Bryony’s Swimming Academy.

I’m currently on maternity leave enjoying life with my two little boys, Rupert and Stanley, but swimming has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I swam competitively until I was 18 with Cambridge Swimming Club’s top squad, training around 10 hours every week and spending most weekends racing at pools across the region.

In my early teens I achieved my County qualifying times, and later went on to gain several Regional qualifying times.

My favourite stroke has always been backstroke, closely followed by butterfly and front crawl. Breaststroke, however... let’s just say it was never my strongest! 😂 I’ve always preferred swimming fast!

I feel incredibly lucky that I now get to share my love of swimming with so many children and families through Bryony’s Swimming Academy. Helping swimmers grow in confidence, develop new skills and enjoy the water is what it’s all about. 💙
