We're still open throughout October at Canoe Wild 🍂

Canoe, kayak and paddleboard hire is available right through to Saturday 31 October, so there's still plenty of time for a quieter autumn paddle on the River Stour.

A different side of Kent, seen from sea level 🌊

White Cliffs sea kayaking starts on the beach at Kingsdown, where the team helps everyone get kitted up and comfortable before heading out together.

The coast decides the pace and the route. That is part of what makes every session feel like a proper little adventure.

Five spots left for this Sunday’s Paddlesport Safety and Rescue course at Grove Ferry.

If you’ve ever wondered how you’d handle a capsize, tow another paddler or help someone back onto their craft, this is your chance to practise those skills properly.

It’s a hands-on six-hour day covering self-rescue, helping others and common problems on sheltered water, whether you paddle a canoe, kayak or paddleboard.

There’s no assessment or formal prerequisite, but Paddle Explore-level ability or equivalent is recommended.

Sunday 11 October | 10am to 4pm | Grove Ferry
£100 per person | Ages 14+
Under 18s need parental consent

Craft, paddles, buoyancy aids, safety kit and waterproof tops are supplied.

This is exactly the kind of October paddle we love hearing about 💙

“Just what we needed: peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings.”

That came from a spur-of-the-moment canoe hire at Grove Ferry in late September, complete with a heron and a kingfisher along the way.

October is not the end of paddling season here 🍂

We're still open throughout the month, with canoe, kayak and paddleboard hire available right through to Saturday 31 October.

If we get a few more of those crisp, bright autumn days, it's a lovely time to see the River Stour at a gentler pace.

The sea doesn't suddenly disappear 🌊

Our White Cliffs sea kayaking sessions are still running from Kingsdown Beach through October. You head out in a double sea kayak with the Canoe Wild team, with the route shaped around the conditions on the day.

It's a completely different view of the Kent coast, and one we never get tired of.

One of the nicest parts of the end of our season is seeing where the kit goes next 🛶

We're finding new homes for a selection of used Red Ride paddleboards, Tootega Pulse 120 double sit-on-top kayaks, bags and paddling kit. You'll find clear photos and condition notes for each item.

What a year, and what a team! 💙

As things start to quieten down after another busy season, we just wanted to say a massive thank you to the brilliant people who make Canoe Wild what it is.

From early starts and busy days on the river to coaching, safety, muddy kit and plenty of laughs, this team has given so much time, energy and care all season.

We genuinely couldn't do it without you. Thank you for making this year such a special one. Here's to plenty more adventures together! 🛶
