Based at our stunning Parc Y Dwrlyn ground, we pride ourselves on providing a welcoming environment for everyone. Our journey begins with ECB programmes (All Stars and Dynamos), progressing through mixed junior age groups (U9 to U15) and a dedicated U15 girls' team, ultimately leading to our competitive men’s and women’s senior squads. On the field, our senior sides compete in the South Wales Premier Cricket League, the Southeast Wales Cricket League, and the Women’s Premier. Beyond the leagues, we maintain a busy calendar of cup competitions, midweek T20s, friendly matches, and tours. Off the field, we are a hub for the community, boasting a strong social membership of locals and friends who enjoy our hospitality throughout the summer. There is something for everyone at Pentyrch CC.

🏏 Pentyrch Cricket Club Presentation Day 2026 🏏

What a fantastic way to celebrate another brilliant sunny season at our fantastic club! 🎉

A huge congratulations to all our individual award winners across the age groups, from U9 right through to U15, as well as our fantastic younger members in All Stars and Dynamos. 🌟👏

Every single player should be incredibly proud of their achievements, commitment and progress throughout the season. It’s been wonderful to see so many of our young cricketers develop their skills, confidence and love for the game. 🏏❤️

A very special congratulations goes to our U15s, who not only celebrated their individual successes but also won their league! 🏆 What an achievement! For this, they were awarded our well-deserved Team of the Year trophy! 🎉👏

We also want to say a huge thank you to all our coaches for the time, dedication, training and expertise they give to our players throughout the season. Your support and encouragement make such a difference. 👏

For keeping us fed throughout the season with their trusty burgers and hotdogs, we must say a huge thank you to Simon and Sid.
And, of course, a massive thank you to our ground staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to get our pitches ready week after week and ensure our teams have the best possible playing conditions. 🌱🏏

🚨2nd Xl - 2026 Season Captain's Review 🦃🚨

🔈After a tough but promising season, please see below our 2nd XI captain George Ashby's comments on the season!

“In what was a very tough year with availability and being in a competitive division we struggled with availability massively at the start of the year due to exams and then never managed to recover from that, although we never gave up and managed to always get good points even in defeat. However, it wasn’t all losses. We won some important games such as Barry Athletic away with Ayush getting 78 n.o to win us the game, Abergavenny away where Gruff Gibbs got 123 n.o to win us the match with his first senior 100 for the club, and then onto the win against Cardiff where we managed to get the game on even though the weather tried to be the only winner. Dom Grossett scored a fiery 61 off 31 to put us in a great position.

These were stand out moments, however, I could not have done it without the help of senior members such as Hood, Tallis, Hammett, Dabson who were superb and gave everything every week.

Then also to our juniors who are establishing themselves in senior cricket with H.Williams, J.O’Leary, C.Phillips, W.Hedd and G.John who all played a massive part this year and all had great moments and performances in their own right.

Then onto our young women! A.Williams who played a massive part as our main spin bowler who took wickets in every game she played and also took catch of the season, then also G.Walters who whilst only playing 1 game had fantastic figures of 4-19-2 in her first senior match and these ladies are ones to watch for the future.

We also said a happy retirement to our very own J.Watkins who has decided to hang the gloves up at the young age of 70. Not only the best wicket keeper in Wales as shown by the caps and tour with Wales over 60’s to Canada, but an absolute gentleman, friend, and top quality cricketer. Now he can relax and go to a few more horse racing events.

🚨1st Xl - 2026 Season Captains Review 🦃🚨

🔈After a brilliant season, please see below our 1st XI captain Mike Grossett’s comments on the season!

“The 2026 season for the 1st XI concluded with last Saturday’s washout at Port Talbot confirming a 4th place finish in South Wales Premier 2, showing real progression from last season’s 6th placed finish.

A mention to three senior players who all had excellent seasons - Connor Brown scoring 573 runs @ 40 & Ali Bukhari scoring over 400+ runs @ 47!
While with the ball, we also saw Ali Bukhari & Matt Schonken each taking 25 wickets @ 17.

Most pleasing was the number of young players who contributed throughout the season. Every week we had four or five U18’s in the 1st XI regularly winning us games with bat and ball, boding well for the future health of the club and for further success in 2027.”

🚨MATCH RESULTS - The 2s Survive! 🏏🚨

🏏1st Xl - No possible play as game called off due to rain.

🏏2nd Xl - Unbelievable WIN which sees the 2s survive relegation on the final day of the season!🦃
-With potential heavy rain around overnight and during the day, the ground staff and players worked tirelessly to get a game on to give them the chance of survival.
-A break in the weather meant the boys were put into bat in a 25 over game. With the side above them now confirmed at 9 points ahead, the team were required to match that or get both 5 batting and 5 bowling bonus points.
-Batting first meant 150 runs to get. We then saw some steady and strong batting from G.GIBBS & C.HEALY to set the tone but a huge innings from both D.GROSSETT (61) & G.ASHBY (36) propelled the team passed the required 5 bonus points!
-In the second innings the team required 5 wickets to get the further 5 bonus points, which with some brilliant bowling from G.ASHBY , D.TALLIS & S.HOOD saw the boys take the 5 wickets needed to survive, but with victory possible they then set their sights on an outright win!
-With the final overs played out, the boys won the game comfortably and earned the right to stay in Div 4, after a season of very difficult player availability that affected the side massively throughout the summer!
-A huge win in the context of the league season but also a huge win for the club to keep allowing our young Turkeys to play at the highest available standard! With a number of young Turkey debuts this year we look forward to seeing them only grow in confidence and ability next season!

🚨TEAM NEWS - The Great Escape? 🏏🦃🚨

🏏1st Xl - To finish the 1st Xl are AWAY to Port Talbot CC.
-After last week’s brilliant win, we look to get ourselves a top 3 finish! We do go into tomorrow with a lot of changes to the side due to availability and injuries.
-Changes to the side as H.JOHN, J.WATKINS & O.DAVIES join the side. We then hopefully see 3 leagues debuts for some Turkey juniors including the first ever ladies player to play league cricket for the 1st Xl in A.WILLIAMS, while G.JOHN & O.JAQUES also make debuts, Best of luck to the three of them!

🏏2nd Xl - The 2nd Xl are at HOME against Cardiff CC 3rd Xl in a huge game to decide their fate.
-In simple terms a win is required to hopefully keep the team in Div 4 after a hard fought season.
-Changes to the side include D.DABSON, H.WILLIAMS, C.HEALY, D.GROSSET & C.PHILLIPS all into the team!

🚨MATCH RESULTS -Two brilliant Chases!🏏🚨

🏏1st Xl - Last game at Turkey Towers for 2026 and signed off with a huge win!
-Winning the toss bowling, we understood we hoped to have the better of the conditions but knew we had to start well!
-The opening bowlers hit their lines and kept things tight, with T.AFRIDI making the breakthrough with 2 quick wickets in the middle and some good bowling at the end kept the opposition to a good but below par score.
-After losing an early wicket in the chase O.BEVERIDGE helped steady the ship coming in at 3, the ever present C.BROWN carried his bat through the innings making 89, while we saw B.HOLE & A.BUKHARI counter attack and completely take the game away from the opposition.
-A brilliant team performance to give the home crowd a great send off for the 1st Xl season at Turkey Towers.

🏏2nd Xl - Unreal chase from youngster G.GIBBS to get a huge win!
-Bowling first at Abergavenny was always going to be tough, a high scoring ground again saw runs, but with some great fight back from our bowlers!
-S.HOOD & G.ASHBY picked up the bulk of wickets, with wickets then shared around the bowlers.
-The chase then set off brilliantly with S.HOOD falling just short of a half century at a run a ball, and his partner G.GIBBS also putting on a show who then carried his bat throughout the innings and scoring an incredible 123 runs off 110 balls to get the team over the line 💯!
-A must win game which saw an incredible innings from a Turkey Youngster!

🚨TEAM NEWS - Finish Strong! 🏏🦃🚨

🏏1st Xl - This week the 1st Xl are again at HOME against Maesteg CC.
-Having secured Prem 2 cricket next year after last week’s win, we look to keep the momentum and push for the top 2.
-Changes to the side as skipper M.GROSSETT returns and B.HOLE & D.GROSSETT come into the Xl.

🏏2nd Xl - The 2nd Xl are AWAY against Abergavenny CC 2nd Xl.
-Looking to get a much needed win to help get out the bottom we see father son duos of G.GIBBS & T.GIBBS and G.JOHN & H.JOHN come into the side, and R.GRANT & R.MALIN make up the remaining changes.
