Summer may be behind us but there's still lots of colour and activity in the community garden 🍅🌸🌻🌼

We had lots of visitors and volunteers eager to help out and enjoy the garden today.
The garden sign received a touch up, a ten year old fern plant was rescued with a bit of extra water and tomato plants were pruned and tended to.

The climbing area next to the bench and tables had the biggest glow up, with the grass and shrubbery cleared to make way for something exciting!

There were a few apples leftover from the trees which we quickly gobbled up by excited children and adults visiting which were tart and tasty 🍏

If you're thinking of volunteering or just visiting and enjoying nature, come to the garden 10-1pm every Saturday. In just a few short weeks our Halloween treasure hunt will start again!

We're so grateful to everyone who took advantage of the sunny day in to spend time in the community garden. We sowed some winter veg seeds, also some spring flower seeds, started a new compost bin and tidied flower beds ready to put in spring bulbs.
One of our wonderful volunteers has started a project to revamp the herb garden, and thanks to two very talented and creative volunteers we have new signs for the Herb Garden and The Orchard and some gorgeous new artwork 🤩

We had a good day off thanks to the rain last weekend, but we'll be back in the garden on Saturday. Drop by between 10am and 1pm to lend us a hand 🌿

Making the most of our pond!

At last week's pond dipping session we got some really good tips about keeping our little ecosystem healthy. So this weekend, we'll be tidying the pond!

Drop by the garden on Saturday 22nd August to lend us a hand, or to grab one of our spare irises to add to your pond at home.

Lots of tasks ticked off the to do list this week ✔️

On the list next week is to tidy up the pond area. That includes pulling out some of the irises, so if you'd like some for your own pond pop into the community garden between 10am and 1pm 🌱🌿

Thank you to all the volunteers today who pruned and supported tomatoes, saved yet more seeds, sowed winter veg seeds, planted out some squashes and skimmed the pond w**d from the pond (never the most fun job but it does keep the frogs happy 🐸) 🥰
