We are now five months into our current Culture Step grant from Arts & Business Cymru which is going really well!

"I am so grateful for the Culture Step grant as it has enabled me to be employed in a supporting role in three of Rubicon's inclusive sessions, I am learning so much every week, developing my skills and passions as a practitioner and learning lots about the community dance sector that I am aiming to build a career in, I love what I do and am so grateful to Arts and Business for giving me this opportunity."

We’re delighted to share that Rubicon Dance has been awarded funding through the Wales Capital Investment Fund.

This investment will support the next stage of developing our building, including improvements to our entrance and reception areas, as well as important surveys and planning work to help shape future improvements across the site.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government for their support and commitment to investing in arts infrastructure in Wales.

This funding marks an exciting step forward for Rubicon and our ambitions for the future. It will help us continue creating a welcoming and inspiring space for everyone who learns, creates, performs and connects here.

It's an exciting time for Rubicon, and we look forward to sharing more as the project develops. Watch this space!

The session will offer artists and practitioners a chance to explore the facts, language and experiences behind some of the conversations we encounter in our communities.

For artists working with children, young people, families and diverse communities, having a better understanding of the asylum system and the experiences of people seeking safety can help us approach these conversations with greater confidence, care and context.

Paul is the Communications Manager at the Welsh Refugee Council. Having worked in communications for approximately 25 years, he counts himself very fortunate to have worked with some amazing people, both colleagues and clients, on some fantastic projects and campaigns. You know who you are!

Being part of the Welsh Refugee Council means a great deal to Paul, who wants to make a difference in any way he can to the lives of people who have fled some dire situations yet still maintain that zest for life and are some of the nicest people he's ever met.

Rosa is the Engagement and Development Lead for the Welsh Refugee Council. She leads campaigns for change, events, and engagement activities across Wales. She is passionate about making community voices heard and a central part of the conversation to shape the charity's commitment to people seeking safety. When she's not working, Rosa can be found exploring a new hike - we're very spoilt for choice here in Wales!

We are looking for Class Support Volunteers!

We are starting September with an exciting programme of classes and workshops and looking for volunteers to help during our dance classes. As a volunteer you will be part of a friendly team, gain experience in dance education, meet new people, and get reimbursements for reasonable food and travel. Interested?

Meet Our BTEC faculty of our Level 3 extended diploma in Performing Arts (Dance) ‼️ In partnership with Cardiff and Vale College | Coleg Caerdydd a’r Fro 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Our Level 3 Extended Diploma is designed for young dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level, develop as versatile performers and prepare for a future in the performing arts industry.

We love to give a warm welcome to Jesse Thornton ( JESSE THORNTON ) who is the new BTEC Dance Performance Tutor on our 2 year vocational training course. Jesse provides an array of knowledge in the arts and we are excited to see his journey with us at rubicon!!

Deborah Ford is Education manager at Rubicon Dance and Course Leader for the BTEC course, supporting young dancers to develop their skills, confidence and career aspirations.

Caitlin Jones ( caitlin jones ) is our BTEC Ballet Tutor. Caitlin brings a wealth of professional performance and teaching experience to the Rubicon Dance BTEC programme. With credits stemming from Ballet Cymru, Ballet West International Touring Company, Kayzer Ballet and Brecon Festival Ballet.
