Meet Catherine Morgan, Table Tennis Wales' new National Safeguarding Lead!

"Hi everyone! I’m Cath Morgan, the new National Safeguarding Lead.

My background is predominantly in safeguarding during a 30-year career in the police, working within the Public Protection Department dealing with child protection, domestic abuse, vulnerable adults, s*x offenders and everything in between.

"First, can I say I have a tough act to follow coming in behind Martyn Dew! That said, my focus will be around proactive safety, building trust, and empowering the community.

"I want to build the prevention systems we already have in place; foster a transparent reporting culture, promoting My Voice so everyone can speak up without any fear; support Regional, Club and League safeguarding officers and volunteers to ensure robustness in our processes, and everyone feels supported.

"I would like to bring TTW to a point where safeguarding is proactive and not just reactive, where everyone feels empowered and confident to perform their role and all participants feel confident that they will be looked after and their well-being is our top priority."

If you would like to contact Cath, be sure to email [email protected]
