🪼🪼 This week we have using fins or flippers 🪼🪼
Not only are they great fun, the kids have been very excited during our lessons, but they have several advantages!
While using fins the teachers can spot when children need a little extra help to improve kicking technique resulting in superior balance and propulsion in their stroke.
They also help to improve strength in the legs using increased resistance while working on stamina and speed.

🪼🪼 Water Safety is important all year round 🪼🪼

☔ Wet weather alert! Don’t let wet weather turn into a water hazard.

✔ Avoid icy edges and slippery banks
✔ Plan walks in daylight or well-lit areas
✔ Keep pets and children close
✔ Never enter cold water to rescue others - call 999 and tell them to float and stay calm

Head bands that hug the ears can be a very useful piece of equipment just like Goggles!!
Swimmers who get overstimulated can find the reduced noise very helpful and also keeping water out the ears can help with the sensation that some dislike! Nervous swimmers can find that a headband is the comfort level that they need!
