While the teams were warming up, sprinklers were being used on the pitch, making it the greenest one played on so far this season.
Enfield kicked off and soon had a corner from which Alejandro Cardenas shot was wide, then Josh Blackburn, Coggeshall’s keeper had to leave his area to kick clear. Coggeshall’s first attack saw a cross by James Long cleared but only to Lewis Nial who promptly shot the ball into the back of the net giving Coggeshall a 7th minute lead. Todd Hollocks broke through Enfield’s defence but was tackled before he could get his shot away and a Long shot won a corner, taken by Hollocks was punched clear by Andrew Zambrano in the Enfield goal. Blackburn held onto a Wilson Chingoka free kick, Shaye Willats prevented Cardenas from shooting and Adian Manning was shown a yellow card. Hollocks made it two for Coggeshall after 19 minutes as he burst through Enfield’s defence. An Enfield effort won a corner which Manning took and Blackburn put out for another corner and then held Manning’s kick. Adam Hewitt put a long shot wide and a Josh Davenport’s cross won a corner which Hollocks overhit. With 32 minutes gone, Enfield pulled a goal back as a low cross by Jadon Anderson was turned in by Remel Green and almost immediately Enfield were level as Green scored from a cross by Cardenas. From the restart the ball was played back to Blackburn and his long kick up field found Long who fired low past Zambrano to restore Coggeshall’s lead and the third goal in three minutes. A good Coggeshall move ended with Zambrano putting Long’s shot out for a corner, but Enfield cleared Nial’s corner and broke away quickly down their left and passed inside for Kevin Moreira to score Enfield’s third with 39 minutes gone. Blackburn dived at Manning’s feet from a corner and Cardenas put a shot wide and a Coggeshall free kick from Nial was saved by Zambrano. Coggeshall were attacking through Long when the half time whistle blew.
HT 3-3
Lewis Wallman replaced Willats at the start of the second half which saw a Green cross put out for a corner which Chingoka overhit and soon after he overhit a freekick. Zambrano saved a Hollocks shot and soon after the match was briefly halted when Todd was involved in a clash of heads with Chingoka, which some supporters thought a yellow card should have been shown to the Enfield player. Coggeshall made another change after 66 minutes as Joe Waller replaced Jimmy Makanjuola. Davenport had a shot blocked, a Nial freekick was saved by Zambrano and a distance shot from Wallman was narrowly wide. After 73 minutes Enfield made their first substitution as Manning was replaced by Brooklyn Robinson, soon after Coggeshall replaced Nial with Jack Charnock, quickly followed by another Enfield change, Calvyn Massala replacing Anderson. A Wallman shot was deflected into Zambrano’s arms and Chingoka was shown a yellow card for fouling Alex Banyard. A Monet Ollivierre shot from distance was high and as the match was about to enter stoppage time, Enfield were awarded a freekick wide on their right, Chingoka’ s kick into the area slipped through Blacburn’s fingers as he leapt for the ball and fell to Moreira who just had to put he ball in the net to put the home side in front. Immediately Enfield replaced Green with Ayomide Ajisafe and Coggeshall replaced Banyard and Long with Charlie Bott and Alfie Button. Enfield ran the time down by playing in the corner and during that time Coggeshall’s Davenport was shown a yellow card.
