October is here, and rugby is back in full flow starting with our Season Launch on Saturday 10th October!

Here's a recap of what rugby is on at the St Francis RFC this month!

28/09/2026

Pre-season game 1 completed mate. 😉

Cranleigh 2s 29–19 St Francis

The scoreline doesn’t tell the full story. A massive shift from the boys from minute one, with plenty of physicality, intensity and some really good rugby played throughout.

Big shout-out to the whole pack, with Ross, Matt, Veaney and Nathan all putting in huge shifts up front.

Steve Hand stepping in at 9, Rylan pulling the strings at 10, Jake and Pat in the centres, Michael and Jack putting in the hits on the wings, and Ben doing a brilliant job at fullback.

Tries from Ross Miller, Rylan Douglas and Ryan Crawley, with Rylan getting over the line on his birthday as well.

Fancy getting involved with St Francis?

We train every Wednesday evening and new players are always welcome, whether you’ve played for years, are returning to the game or want to give rugby a go.

Feel free to drop us a DM. 💙🖤💙🖤

Come to Daddy… 👀

Last week at training, the boys got stuck into a bit of tackling, and it was an absolutely excellent session.

Even with the rain coming down, I think we were all secretly glad it helped soften the pitch up a little! 😂

Another strong session in the bank ahead of the new season, with plenty more tackling to come over the next few weeks.

As ever, if you fancy getting involved, drop us a DM or leave a comment and one of us will reach out.

💙🖤

Save the date... Saturday 10th October is our St Francis RFC Season Launch!

We’ll be playing Seaford 2s in a pre-season friendly, kicking off at 2:30pm, and we’re putting together a great day around the game.

Our new sponsors will be joining us, we’ll be unveiling the new kit, and launching a new club tradition to recognise commitment to St Francis. Every member and player who has completed at least one season with the club will receive their first St Francis pin.

We’ll have food from Mazza after the game, along with a few other bits planned throughout the day.

Before kick-off, we’ll also be holding a minute’s silence in memory of Krango, Annette Holt and Brian Trill. We had hoped to mark Brian’s passing with a memorial game in January, but that was lost due to the fixture being cancelled, so it feels important to recognise him properly on the day too.

More details and timings will follow soon. 👀

For now, save the date, bring the family down and come and enjoy the day with us. 💙🖤💙🖤

A massive welcome to Mazza Curry & Grill, one of St Francis RFC’s newest club partners! 🙌

Based in Southgate Parade, just a few minutes from the club, Mazza’s award-winning kitchen will also be offering all St Francis members 20% off when they use the discount code 'RFC20'.

To place an order, visit https://mazzacurryandgrill.co.uk/ or call 01293 550550.

We can’t wait to work with Mazza on some special socials this season, and enjoy a few poppadoms after training!

A huge shout-out to Mohammed and his team for becoming part of the St Francis family.
