Ever thought about becoming a referee? Now's your chance!

Sussex County Women & Girls Football League, in collaboration with Sussex FA and the University of Sussex, is running a Female Referee Course to help grow the number of female officials across grassroots football.

Whether you're a player, coach, parent or supporter looking for a new challenge, refereeing is a fantastic way to stay involved in the game, build confidence, develop leadership skills and earn money.

📅 Friday 6th November – Classroom session (6:30pm–9:30pm)
📅 Saturday 7th November – Practical 3G session (9:30am–5:30pm)
💷 Course cost: £100
✅ Refund available if your application isn't successful
⚽ Fully refunded after completing 10 SCWGFL matches
👥 Applicants must be 14+

30th June 2018: Our very first girls' training session with a mixed-age group of just 28 players ⚽️

30th June 2026: The addition of our women's team completes our pathway 💪

In just 8 years, we've grown from those first 28 girls to 13 age groups, offering a complete pathway from grassroots through to senior women's football.

Not bad for a little village.

Are you ready for your next challenge?

Crawley Down Gatwick FC is looking for outfield players and an additional goalkeeper to join our U18 Girls team for the new season.

This is an exciting time to join the club as we continue to strengthen our girls' and women's pathway. Our U18s will train alongside our senior women's side, Ashmount Leigh FC Women, giving players a genuine pathway into senior football and opportunities to train and trial with the first team as the clubs begin their transition into one club.

📅 Our first open training session is on Tuesday 8th July, 7:00–8:30pm at Felbridge.
