🌿 Guest Teaching at Free Park Yoga πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ™

What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning!

I was delighted to be invited as a guest teacher this morning, supporting Fusion Yoga & Well-Being Centre at their FREE Park Yoga session at Greenwich Park in Ripley.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community and share the benefits of Dru Yoga (Hatha Yoga) in the beautiful surroundings of the park. πŸŒ³β˜€οΈ

One of the things I love most about Dru Yoga is its gentle, flowing and inclusive approach. The movements can be adapted to suit different abilities and levels of experience, making yoga accessible whether you are completely new to the practice or have been enjoying yoga for many years.

This morning's practice was a lovely reminder that yoga is about so much more than movement – it's an opportunity to breathe, connect with your body, calm the mind and simply enjoy being present. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈβœ¨

A huge thank you to Fusion Yoga and Wellbeing Centre for inviting me to teach and to everyone who joined the session and brought such lovely energy to the park.

I feel very grateful to have opportunities like this to share Dru Yoga and wellbeing within our local community. πŸ™πŸ’œ

πŸ’ Feeling Very Grateful πŸ’

What a lovely surprise! I received these beautiful flowers from a couple of my wonderful regular yogis who attend my Thursday evening 6.15pm–7.15pm Gentle Flow Yoga class at The Luna Shala Yoga Studio in Ilkeston. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈπŸ’œ

It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture, and one that genuinely means so much to me. πŸ™

I feel incredibly grateful for the wonderful people who come along to my classes each week. DruwithjuYoga is about so much more than movement – it’s about connection, friendship, support and creating a welcoming community where everyone can enjoy their yoga journey together.

Thank you so much for my beautiful flowers and for your kindness. They certainly brightened my day. πŸ’πŸ™πŸ’œ

πŸ’ͺ Take on the Super Six Challenge! πŸ’ͺ

Did you know that falls are not an inevitable part of getting older? Taking a few simple steps can make a big difference to your strength, balance, confidence and independence.

Our Super Six focuses on six key areas to help reduce your risk of falls:

βœ… 1. Know Your Risk
Complete a falls risk assessment. If you're identified as being at risk, discuss the results with your GP.

βœ… 2. Stay Active
Improve your strength and balance with regular exercise. Why not join a Live Stronger for Longer class?

βœ… 3. Create a Safer Home
β€’ Remove clutter
β€’ Relocate trailing cables
β€’ Arrange a home safety check through Derbyshire Fire & Rescue or the Handy Van Service

βœ… 4. Love Your Health
Keeping active helps you stay stronger for longer. Every bit of movement counts! - try the super six exercises at least twice a week

βœ… 5. Better Bones
Support your bone health by eating more calcium and vitamin D-rich foods such as cheese and oily fish.

βœ… 6. Plan Ahead
Keep essentials like water, blankets and cushions nearby, make your home as fall-proof as possible, carry your phone with you, and consider a falls pendant for added reassurance.

🌟 Small changes today can help you stay active, independent and confident. Why not give the Super Six Challenge a try and encourage friends and family to get involved too?

Yesterday was a truly rewarding day, delivering Chair-Based Exercise, breathwork and relaxation to not one, but two wonderful community groups. πŸ’œ

A heartfelt thank you to Lizzie and everyone at the Liver Lantern Support Group, and to Anne Hobbs and the lovely members of The Evergreens, Breaston, for such a warm welcome.

I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share the many benefits of Chair-Based Exercise, alongside the importance of mindful breathing and deep relaxation. These gentle practices can make a real difference to people living with long-term health conditions, as well as those experiencing age-related changes, helping to improve strength, balance, mobility, confidence and overall wellbeing.

It is a privilege to support our local community and witness first-hand the positive impact that movement, breath and relaxation can have on both body and mind. πŸ™

🌿 Supporting our local yoga community 🌿

This morning I had the pleasure of attending the free Park Yoga session in Ripley, led by the wonderful team at Fusion Yoga Studios.

It was so lovely to catch up with Lisa, Sarah and the rest of the team. The session was beautifully balanced, offering the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, be present in the moment and simply enjoy moving outdoors.

If you're thinking about starting your yoga journey, or you're looking to continue your practice in a welcoming and supportive environment, I would highly recommend giving Park Yoga a try. It's a wonderful way to experience the many benefits of yoga while enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
Thank you to everyone involved for such a lovely morning. πŸ™πŸ’š
