THE CHIEFS ARE AFC CHELLASTON CUP WINNERS 2026!

What a day for the boys and their families and friends who stayed to watch!!! There is no better feeling than winning, and the boys had to work very hard against some talented teams!! A little bit of luck always helps 😎

GROUP STAGES
Finishing 2nd was not bad but Chiefs felt they dominated all the games, the first game was a 0-1 loss after creating 3-4 amazing chances and 1 goal disallowed. In 12min Tournament football, anything can happen.

KO STAGES
Quarter Final Vs Mansfield Town FC
0-0 Chiefs WIN on penos.
Dispatching all pens!
Semi Final vs Clifton Purple
0-0 Chiefs WIN on penos

FINAL VS WINSHILL VIKINGS
1-1 AFC Chellaston Chiefs WIN ON PENOS!!!!!
The final against a physical Winshill went very well, an absolute rocket from Ronnie hit the top corner to put the Chiefs up. The boys had everything under control until a free kick landed in the box, and wasn’t cleared away. A close range finish made it 1-1. Legs were tiring, fatigue kicking in but their heads never dropped.
After extra time it went to Penalties where The Chiefs and Seth’s amazing reflexes helped win the shootout and the Cup!!! 🏆

It was great to witness the togetherness from the boys today! They brought their families and friends all together and it will be a day they wont forget!

We are super proud…SUPER CHELLO, SUPER CHIEFS!!!😎

But…..on a sad note, we say goodbye to Niks our maestro in CM. He has been a huge player for us, and we will miss him very much. It has been great over the years to see you develop as a player and as a young man!!
What a way to bow out Niks 😎
All the best to Niks and his family as they move back home to Latvia.

SATURDAY DIV2 YEL
CHIEFS 2-3 HILTON HARRIERS FIRE

The final game of the season on a glorious morning at Chellaston Park!! The Chiefs knew they just needed to go for the win, and nothing else! Promotion was on the cards, and the boys were up for the challenge.

Hilton started the quickest, and Chiefs were 1-0 down when Hiltons best player today, their CF was put through.
Once the Chiefs settled, we created several opportunities but the final bit of composure in the pass or decision was not quite there. Hilton pressed well and countered whenever possible.

2nd half arrived and the boys regrouped, we knew we had to raise the levels. The boys kept pushing, and there were some nearly chances again, until a suckerpunch decision gave Hilton a penalty which they dispatched 0-2.

Lewis pushed up from MF, we went on attack. And were gifted a goal as the keeper jumped into his own net.

This rallied the boys who hunted for the second. Some great crosses in from Armaan caused danger, and we couldnt finish. Rayez and Archie kept trying off the left side. But it was on the left where Niks amazing ”Maradona” between 3 players allowed him to feed Lucas who poked in to make it 2-2!! Game on!

The boys had the ascendancy and kept trying to nick an amazing comeback, we had chances!!! in the end Hilton scored a brilliant goal after a goalkick was rebounded back to their player who finished first time from out of the box.

A valliant team effort from being 2 down. On another occasion a better start would have helped, but we finish the season with heart and integrity. The boys carried themselves well, and showed in the past year that the Chiefs are a team that will always test you and give you a tough game.

Onto Tournaments and a well earned break.

The Chiefs will be back, stronger than ever 💪🏼

SATURDAY DIV2 YEL (Tues Evening Match)
CHIEFS 4-0 COALVILLE TOWN ROOKS U12

A mid week evening trip away today, and The Chiefs rocked up looking to take all 3 points back to Derby!

The start was strong and positive, Armaan pounced on a mistake to prod home the first goal! 1-0. This set the tone and the boys continued!

The Right side caused alot of danger, Armaan and Lewis managed to get crosses in without a finish. 2-0 came from a whipped cross from the right which found its way to Lucas to tap in. Lucas got his 2nd after finding the ball at his feet in the box, calmly slotting it in the far post for 3-0.

The second half the same focus was required, and the boys kept playing some great football at times. Alton Harry and Oliver kept things tight at the back. Seth sharp as ever off his line! Archie had lots of joy on the right finding room to send in some dangerous balls, there was great build up play throughout. Leo smashed one off the post after some great football which started from the back, assisted by Niks. 4-0 soon came after Arch dropped onto his left and sent a rasping drive into the net.

Today all the boys played very well, they fought well together, listened to the coach’s, focused, and played some amazing football!

Last game is on Saturday 930am….see you there 😎

SUNDAY DIV1 DJFL
CHIEFS 3-1 ALLESTREE JUNIORS PORTO

Today marked the final game of the Chiefs Sunday league season! Both teams and families observed a 1 minute applause in memory of a young 11 year old boy who tragically passed away on Friday evening not far from The Racecourse. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends 🙏🏽

The game was goalless at halftime, there were chances both ends, Allestree looking to send thier striker through at every given opportunity and Chiefs using the wings to create! Archie looking the liveliest, chopping in from the left when he could. Elliot doing his best on the right. There were a few half chances, but nothing we could take full advantage of.

We needed to improve our levels, and after going a goal behind the Chiefs kicked into gear.

Rayez kept being positive of the Left Wing, and his amazing free kick thundered off the bar from the left side. Soon after, Harry did it again! A looping cross ball went over the Porto’s keeper’s head! LEVEL! Sometimes you make your own luck 🤷🏽‍♂️

Armaan on the right decided to cause mayhem, and twisted his fullback inside out, then was brought down in the box! Penalty. He decided to take it with no hesitation and dispatched it perfectly! 2-1!!!! A new lease of confidence and he was very much in the mood for the rest of the half. 🏄🏽‍♀️

Chiefs now looked in control, Ronnie marshalled the defence til the final whistle. Not before Niks who filled in as captain for the injured Leo, decided to let loose and hit a scorching drive into the top corner from outside the box! A stunning way to finish the season! 3-1 😎

MOTM 🏆 Niks….always trying to get on the ball and create, a beautiful goal capped his performance today!

SUNDAY DIV1 DJFL
CHIEFS 2 - 4 ASHBOURNE AZTECS PANTHERS

Today’s game was against a well established footballing side, and The Chiefs found it difficult to get going especially in the first half. Our passing could have been a lot sharper, and we struggled to retain and use the ball well especially in the first 30 mins.

Olly filled in Goals today as Seth was injured, and he did very well, including a Penalty save to keep the score at 1-0 to Ashbourne. Unfortunately Ashbourne doubled their lead and Chiefs were 2 down at half time.

A few things had to change, effort, intensity and concentration! Passing certainly did. We decided to set up more attacking and went 2-4-1-1.

Leo made an instant impact, pressing and winning the ball to fire a quick shot beating the keeper at the near post form the Left side of the box!! The Chiefs kept going, as they hunted an equaliser, although Ashbourne still looked dangerous on the counter!

Comeback complete! 2-2! Archie’s great lofted cross from the right was dispatched by Rayez on the opposite flank! The football was coming in phases! We kept building pressure and had opportunities in the box from corners, Leo’s snapshot, a great drive from Ronnie outside of the box was close! This was the reaction we wanted!

The danger was there, and after not dealing with another Ashbourne counter, they made it 2-3. The boys still went for it all the way til the last seconds which is why Ashbourne managed to add their 4th.

The reaction was pleasing, a few things learned again today which will be taken on board. Ashbourne deserved their win, and The Chiefs have their last game next Sunday to end the season on a high!!!

Well done to Olly on filling in today, and Ronnie who had a very good 2nd half.

MOTM 🏆 Leo(c)……did everything he could to try and cause danger, and helped bring the team back into the game with his goal.
