🔵⚪️ BRODSWORTH MAIN U10s v TICKHILL BLUE ⚽️
A fantastic morning of football for our Broddy U10s, who faced a strong Tickhill Blue side after their original opponents, Barlby, were unfortunately unable to field a team.
With half the squad having celebrated Caesar’s birthday the night before, some might have wondered how much energy the lads would have left! 😂🎉
But there was certainly no shortage of effort as both teams served up a cracking contest in challenging, windy conditions.
Broddy came flying out of the blocks, with birthday boy Caesar leading the line brilliantly. His movement, determination and incredible work rate caused the Tickhill defence problems throughout. Clearly, the birthday celebrations hadn't slowed him down! 💪
With the wind behind them for the opening two quarters, Broddy played some excellent football, pressing high, moving the ball confidently and creating plenty of opportunities.
Louie Coops got things going with a lovely strike before a fantastic team move produced another goal. A huge tackle from Quinn started the attack, with Oscar and Tommy combining superbly to set up Caesar for a composed finish. ⚽👏
Tickhill showed their quality with an absolute thunderbolt into the top corner against the wind, a brilliant strike that deserved plenty of applause! 🚀
Broddy continued to push forward, and Tommy added another excellent finish to continue his impressive goalscoring form.
The change of ends brought a completely different challenge, with Tickhill now enjoying the advantage of the wind and putting the Broddy defence under sustained pressure.
Roary stepped up with some important saves, while the rest of the team worked tirelessly to keep their opponents at bay.
Broddy continued to create opportunities of their own, although there were moments when moving the ball a little quicker might have brought greater rewards.
What stood out most was the determination, resilience and togetherness of the entire squad. Against a very good Tickhill side, the lads showed real character, battling for every ball and refusing to let their standards drop.

🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – QUINN
An outstanding performance from Quinn, who just edged out an equally impressive Caesar for today's award.
His distribution was excellent throughout, but it was his fearless defending and perfectly timed tackles that really caught the eye.
Even a bloodied battle wound couldn't stop him putting in challenge after challenge!
The Broddy Brawler was certainly living up to his nickname! 💪👏
💙 WELCOME BACK, DANIEL!
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the morning was seeing Daniel return to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a broken arm.
Introduced for the final quarter, he slotted straight back into the action as though he'd never been away.
Absolutely brilliant to see you back out there, Daniel! 🙌
Just remember those shin pads and socks next time! 😂
A brilliant game of grassroots football, played in great spirit by both teams, and another valuable experience for our young Broddy squad.
Plenty of quality, plenty of determination and, most importantly, plenty of smiles!
Well done to every single player, and a big thank you to Tickhill Blue for a fantastic contest.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everyone, and good luck to all our Broddy teams in action tomorrow! 🔵⚪️⚽️
