September Intake Open 📥
We’re only taking on clients for the next 10 days then we’ll be closing up intake until October as I skoot off on holiday for a bit.
So drop us a message over the next week if you’re keen to get started.
And we can have you set up before the middle of September ready to attach your goals.
Remember you’ll get 15% off if you’re referred by one of our current clients, all you need to do is quote their name when inquiring.
We’re taking on people with any goal.
The goal itself isn’t important.
It’s your desire to want to find new levels, and take on a goal that scares you a little.
One that you know you’ll get to with much more success with our support.
Fed up of winging it and getting nowhere? Spinning the wheels?
You know where to come 🫱🏻🫲🏽
Finally make the leap you’ve been calling off for ages.
DM us with “9-5” and we’ll send on some more info no questions asked. 👊🏻

Nobody was coerced into saying anything of these things.
I promise 😅
These messages I get through WhatsApp every now and again are what makes it all worth it.
A happy athlete, who’s getting results.
That’s the name of the game at the end of the day.
Helping my team see progress and have fun while they do it.
If you’re wondering what sort of stuff you can expect from our coaching, give this a read!

First proper outing of this Hyrox season was an open solo sim down at the Active Dundee sim.
1:02:43 and 100 unbroken wall balls.
A massive improvement on any of my previous open times from last year!
I’ve been working with Dan Reeve · S&C Coach the past 8 weeks with a massive focus on pacing and finding true threshold paces to be running when I’m racing solo.
And I definitely wasn’t necessarily fitter than my last races going into this, I just paced it so much better.
It’s such a different race to the usual kill yourself paces of doubles, which I’ve previously found I’m much more suited to.
But trying to prove myself wrong on that point the back end of this year.
I’m not putting any number/time goal on my races, as I’ve shot myself in the foot previously doing that.
I’m just hoping for time improvements each one on previous all going well.
HYROX Birmingham- 59 Days 🏴
HYROX Milan - 97 Days 🇮🇹
After that we re-evaluate what’s next!
Hopefully another doubles in there somewhere.
I went from feeling a bit meh about this HYROX season to absolutely buzzing again after one weekend.
Let’s go.

A new coffee machine, that’s changed my life.

And clients once again absolutely smashing events this weekend. Once again Team 9-5 letting results do the talking 👇🏻

Earlier on this year I set a goal to go sub 3 in the marathon, and in reality everything had to go absolutely perfectly in the prep to get there.
It did not go perfectly, at all.
Race day = the wheels came off.
I had the best 32km of my life. 4:15 average nailed.
Then a hell of a last 10km that hurt very badly.
I dug it out and finished in 3hrs 20 mins.
And my instant reaction was thinking I’d failed.
Now this goes beyond just appreciating how far I’ve come,
It goes back to accepting that progress takes time.
Not just a few months.
Years.
Especially in endurance sports.
If you want the big X time goal.
You might need to be very very patient.
I needed more time.
And so do you.
So that comes back to the fact, that each time you get better, you beat your PB, you’ve one upped your day 1.
My had to crawl my first half marathon.
But I remember being happy at the end that I’d finished it.
So in reflection, should you not still be so proud of how far you’ve come today in comparison to day 1.
Not every race will be perfect either.
So start measuring yourself in years, not just race to race.
