Sunday Talk

We’ve been living good in Italy since Thursday - I’m going to return to Scotland a few kg up but very happy🇮🇹

The 3am wake up for McGinn’s goal and a Scotland World Cup win was well worth it 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It’s good to be back running 🏃🏼‍♂️

14 weeks ago after a PB my shin felt really off

10 weeks ago after taking a 2 week break and trying to figure it out myself I got scans & support

The journey back to running having suffered a stress fracture began

It’s only been 2x 6 minute run/walk sessions but it’s small wins like these that will get me back to where I want to be

Train This For 4% 🏃🏼‍♂️

Improvements to your running economy

Which over the course of a marathon is huge 📈

I’d reccomend getting strong with a straight legged calf variation & bent knee calf variation 💪🏻

Changing these towards isometric variations in race season is also a great shout 🏅

Go build them 🦵🏋🏼

Another week building back to running

I’m hard on myself and sometimes feel like I’m not doing enough cardio wise

But I’ve handled this setback pretty well - it’s been tough at times and there’s days where I’ve really not wanted to train but got it done

It’s gonna be hard when I’m back out there running but the fitness will come back

Trying to make sure I’m strong for when that time comes

I came into 2026 determined to run sub 3 and now I’m okay with it not happening this year

You can’t force it and my goal when I’m back is to rebuild slowly, smartly with 0 stress

I want to run a marathon PB in 2026

But I don’t want to break myself again

Time will tell 🏅

Outside of training

Not much truth be told😂

crushing & a lot of programming ticked off this week for what’s to come in the 2nd half of the year for the team 🏆🏁

Gearing up for a holiday and a full week off the tools, hitting the sauna, eating cookies & trying to spend less time on my phone over the weekend📲

Have a nice Sunday eve✌🏻

“I was on for X Marathon time”

This triggers me😂

And it’s safe to say I used to see people talk about this with maybe 10km to go and now people are saying they were on for X time 20km in…

You still had 22.2km to run

I’ve missed the time I’ve wanted to run in marathons more than I’ve hit it

But I’ve never not owned that and looked for the lessons to carry forward on my journey🏃🏼‍♂️

Since when did running a marathon at any time not become something worth celebrating

Own your time ⌚️(chip time)

Look for any lessons you can carry forward - training, fuelling, pacing etc

And maybe missing your time will become the thing you look back on and are grateful it happened🏃🏼‍♂️

Happy Global Running Day🏃🏼‍♂️🌍

This sport has changed my life & I’ll be forever grateful

I’m still writing my story to a sub 3 marathon - I won’t stop till I get there, just strap in as it’s not been straight forward😂

Outwith chasing times the people I’ve met & experiences I’ve gained from running have been transformative

I love this game💙
