END OF SEMESTER REPORT

I hope everyone is managing to get through their end of year projects and exams and can look forward to the up coming holidays.
This is a part of the year I never really look forward to as some of you will be leaving to go back home or move forward with your career and you will be missed at the club so I would like to wish everyone who is leaving all the best for the future and I know it sounds like a cliche but once a member of Herriot Watt Taekwondo Club you’re always a member so if you return to Edinburgh please come back and see us and keep in touch with your Taekwondo achievements.

It has been another successful year for Heriot Watt Taekwondo Club on the competition front with the woman doing really well this year and many students getting the grades they worked so hard to achieve.
At the time of posting this I’m still waiting to hear if I have the studio for the grading on the last Sunday of May (31st) if not it will be on Thursday 28th of May.
It was hoped that there would be enough members training through the summer to justify getting the use of the hall but that looks unlikely so other arrangements which have been discussed in class will have to be made.
As always your support is greatly appreciated.

I would remind everyone that the last class of this semester is on Thursday the 2nd of April so if anyone wants to train throughout the summer let me know as soon as possible so I can arrange a hall and dates . Master Frank Lindsay VII

Better late than never
Well done to everyone who trained so hard on Thursday night it was great to see the effort that everyone put in, these hard sessions will pay off in future gradings and competitions.
It’s a pleasure to work with all the students when everyone is so keen to learn , work hard and improve so keep up the good work.
Anyone who is going to the DMA competition in Wishaw should start to arrange travelling with fellow students ie car sharing and as I’ve said before it would be great if as many of you can go through and support the event.
As always your support is greatly appreciated.

I would remind everyone who is thinking about entering the DMA competition to get your applications in as soon as you can and anyone who is interested in officiating please contact Mr Dowden 6th degree asap.
The competitions that are organised from associations such as the UKTC and the DMA are there for your benefit to enhance your Taekwondo experiences with a lot of hard work by the associations so please in whatever capacity you can let’s support them.

Thanks to everyone who braved the cold weather to attend the first class of the new year ,it was a good session to get back into the flow of training and hopefully you all enjoyed it. The tempo of this semester as always will be much harder and faster as there are no beginners so please be ready to take on the challenge and as I say in class be good to yourselves do a little training every day to make a difference.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Thursday and the returning students next week.

Tonight’s class is the last class of this year so with that in mind I would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a great new year. The club has had another good year and let’s keep building on that success with everyone attaining their goals.
I would ask all students and anyone who has ever been to Heriot Watt University Taekwondo club to please send a get well message to Mr Keith Symington 2nd Dan who is recovering from major surgery, Keith has been a member of the university Taekwondo Club for many years in fact he’s part of the fabric of the club and been a great help to me and previous instructors and I know everyone at th club wishes him a speedy recovery and all the best . If you can’t make tonight’s class or tomorrow night’s social enjoy the Christmas holiday and see you next year
