In Memory of Stewart Robertson

Watsonian Football Club is deeply saddened to share the passing of club stalwart Stewart Robertson on August 13 at the age of 85.

Since 1991, Stewart filled countless roles; from Team Attendant, Team Secretary, Kit Manager to House Convener. Notably, he played a vital role in establishing and supporting our Women’s section. Present from their very first match, he took huge pride in seeing them grow into one of Scotland’s top teams, celebrating alongside them for their 2019 Sarah Beaney Cup and Premiership victories. Stewart went on to become a supporter for every cup final since then, for which we cannot thank him and his family enough.

A legendary presence and friend to many across Watsonian Rugby, Stewart will be dearly missed.

Our thoughts are with his wife Anne, son Blair, daughter Lindsay, and his wider family.

Funeral details will be shared once confirmed.

A massive shout out to our own, Sophie!!

During the offseason, Sophie competed the Fisherman’s Trail, which is a 215km route from Porto Covo to Lagos in Portugal. She completed it in 11 days, which is 2 days faster than the average!!

Sophie did this as part of her training for and to raise money to participate in Race Across the UK a challenge event where teams of two race from Dartmouth to Inverness, no planes or cars with challenges and coins to collect on route.

This is all to raise money for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity one of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo’s charity partners of which cumulatively as a Charity they donated 1.5 million pounds this year to various Military and Scottish Traditional Arts.
