Well, we said we'd be honest and so here it is:

Things are tight.

So we asked the landlord for a small lease extension to give us a little more breathing room before the big move.

We firmly got told "No."

Bu**er.

So, we're pleased and excited to officially confirm that the new U7 will absolutely, 100%, because we have no choice, be opening on:

SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER 2026.

Lock that date in.

We know we have.

On average, someone who joins U7 will stay with us for two years. That’s above the industry average. Fact.

So, why do they stay?

Some will say it’s the kit. Others will say it’s the atmosphere. And a few, if we’re lucky, might even say it’s the people.

But the truth is, for any member to stay somewhere for two years, they have to build a relationship with that place and have a genuine sense of belonging to it. And that can be hard to describe or pin-point when asked.

That’s one area we’ve specifically turned our attention to with the gym development.

Belong.

To date, our members haven't had the luxury of social spaces, large car parks, saunas, studios, and so on.

But imagine if they did.

Well, now is our chance to change that.

We’re not just adding things for the sake of it, though. We’re creating thoughtful spaces designed to help everyone feel comfortable and that they belong here.

Whether that’s the three different studio spaces that allow our group exercise and class communities to grow, the youth programme now being delivered on-site - connecting the parents and children in Exeter to the U7 system, or the fully functioning café that provides a social space for anyone in the area, not just members, to socialise, connect and relax.

Even down to the subtle touch of separating the sauna areas so everyone feels comfortable using them.

Yeah, we’ve considered a lot.

Importantly, though, none of this takes away from the fact that we are, and always will be, a real training gym.

If anything, we feel these things only add to what U7 really is...

A place where people actually belong.

👊

Unless we mess this whole thing up. 🫣

Think you've got the stomach for it?

This week some of our members took on another one of Poppy's pop-up challenges. This time testing their core and stability.

From kirat coming back 7 times to give it "one more go", to Tammy pulling faces like we've never seen before. This challenge proved quite difficult.

Think you can do better? Give it a go, tag us in your stories, and let's see how you get on.

All hands on deck.

With the days counting down, we thought it was time to check in with the trades to see what they're up to and the challenges they're facing.

Unsurprisingly, with Simon deciding the ice baths were going into the ground, it's proven to be the toughest job to date. Sorry, Mike!

People say we're a serious gym.

They're right.

But being serious about your training doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

Things have been really heating up on-site.

So Mat decided to head far out into the ocean, to calm his mind and recover from the stress of it all.

Ironically, in a few months time, he won't need to travel that far to find his inner zen....

We asked our members one simple question...
What would you like to see at the new gym?

From more equipment and studio space to recovery facilities, better changing rooms and even a human flag ladder, there were plenty of ideas.

The exciting part… Some of them might be closer than you think 👀

Watch until the end to hear Tom hint at what could be making its way into the new space.

Let us know in the comments what you would like to see!

Gym anxiety is more common than you might think.

Whether you're stepping into a gym for the first time or getting back into training after a break, it's completely normal to feel a little unsure.

A few simple things can make a big difference:
- Bring a friend for some extra confidence.
- Book a free gym tour so you know your way around before your first session.
- Go in with a plan so you know exactly what you're there to do.

We're here to help make your training experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible so If you've got any questions, want to book a free gym tour or need a hand putting together a programme, just drop us a message.

We're always happy to help.

This week, on the move, we get a sneak peek into Mikes new office, and also dive deeper into one of the foundations of U7 - training.

Training, in its absolute purity, is and always will be, the heart of U7.

Whether you're stepping back into the gym after a break, deep into a bodybuilding prep, or simply training because you love it by doing 100 burpees over a bar - we are here for you and here the work.

With us taking training so seriously, this week, Mat's dived deeper and explained some of what's gone into the planning of our soon to be, new home.

We aren't just bringing the same kit over to the new gym.

We're also not filling the space up for the sake of it.

Every single piece of equipment has been stress-tested, questioned, and challenged to earn its place on our gym floor.

Part of that challenge has come in the form of Ross from , who came down and checked our space out this week. We've been working closely with Ross and their team over a number of months to build a space that works, and takes our strength and functional training areas up a notch. So many questions, conversations, and challenges have come up along the way, but Ross has been great at helping us overcome them to deliver a proper training experience.

He didn't deserve to be shown up on camera by leaving him hanging, but we caught it on camera and so naturally we thought we'd include it.

got covered in concrete this week as well - unfortunately this wasn't caught on camera.

The full equipment list is going to be revealed very soon. Check out our website below, dedicated to all things training and equipment.
