π EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS DONE! πͺπΊπββοΈπββοΈ
A massive congratulations to our Wyre Tri member, Ella, who headed out to Banyoles over the weekend to represent GB at the European Aquathlon Championships!
Competing at the European Aquathlon Championships is an achievement in itself, but what makes this even more impressive is everything Ella manages behind the scenes. Representing your country while juggling the beautiful chaos of motherhood, business, and training is something to be incredibly proud of.
She absolutely smashed it against a world-class field
β¨ 5th in Age Group & 34th out of 180 women overall!π€―
πββοΈ 1km Swim: 17:11 β Showcasing her strength in the water, Ella delivered a fantastic swim to put herself right in the mix against Europe's best age-groupers.
πββοΈ 5km Run: 21:17 β Digging incredibly deep in the baking Spanish heat, she backed it up with a ferocious run.
β±οΈ Total Time: 40:57
Ella, you are an inspiration and a deeply valued member of Wyre Tri. You've proven yet again that with determination, consistency, and resilience, you can achieve incredible thingsβeven when life is full to the brim.

πββοΈ ULLSWATER END-TO-END CONQUERED! πββοΈ
Huge congratulations to Wyre Tri Clubβs very own Elliot, who has just conquered the epic 7.5-mile Ullswater End-to-End swim! ππ
This was Elliotβs 4th attempt at this brutal marathon swim, and his determination completely paid off. Not only did he smash the distance, but he finally cracked the top threeβfinishing in an incredible 2nd place in the skins category with a stellar time of 03:46:13! π₯π₯
It was an exceptionally tough day on the lake. Some rare and brutal currents rolled in, making the water significantly slower than expected and forcing many swimmers to drop out. But Elliot dug deep, showed unbelievable grit, and pushed through the grueling conditions to claim his podium spot.
Elliot, your perseverance and drive are an inspiration to everyone at the club. We are incredibly proud to have you representing Wyre Tri!
Drop some massive congratulations for Elliot in the comments below! πππ

πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ IRONMAN VITORIA-GASTEIZ COMPLETED! πͺπΈβ¨
Huge congratulations to two of Wyre Tri Club's absolute finest, Adam and Craig, who took on the grueling Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz and absolutely smashed it!
We could not be prouder of these two incredible athletes:
Adam crossed the finish line in a phenomenal time of 10:50:07! β±οΈπ₯
Craig dug incredibly deep and brought it home in an amazing 12:46:56! β±οΈπͺ
An Ironman isn't just won on race dayβit is won in the dark winter mornings, the pouring rain, and the countless sacrifices made along the way. To get to that starting line takes relentless determination and hundreds of hours of grueling training. Balancing work, life, and endless hours in the pool, on the saddle, and on the tarmac is a monumental feat in itself, and these two handled it like absolute pros.
Beyond being incredibly dedicated athletes, Adam and Craig are two of the most genuine and supportive members of our club. Having them represent the Wyre Tri colours out in Spain is an absolute honor.

DNF... Determination Never Fails! πͺπΌ
Huge shoutout to our very own Adam who took on the Ullswater 5km swim at the weekend. To say the conditions were "sporting" would be an understatementβthink less 'peaceful lake swim' and more 'trapped in a washing machine on spin cycle.' π¨π
With howling winds and choppy waters that felt like they were fighting back, it just wasn't the day to force it. Pulling the plug is one of the hardest calls an athlete can make, but knowing when to respect the water is what separates the smart from the stubborn.
Hereβs the thing about Wyre Tri: we donβt just celebrate the finish lines; we show up for the tough days too. Thatβs exactly why you have a team behind youβto grab you a warm towel, hand you a hot drink, gently roast you about getting the kayak back to shore and then help you plan the comeback.
We win together, we DNF together, and we sure as hell come back stronger together.
Rest up, defrost, and letβs get back to work. π¦Ύ

Huge congratulations to the Wyre Tri crew who took on the Epicman Triathlon & Multisport Festival at the weekend! πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ

βοΈ WHAT A DAY AT THE LAKESMAN! πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ
Massive congratulations to the 5 incredible Wyre Tri legends who took on The Lakesman 70.3 this past Sunday!
The Lake District served up beautiful views but absolutely scorching weather. Pushing through those temperatures over a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run is no joke, but these guys absolutely smashed it.
Huge shoutout to our finishers and their incredible times:
Chris Morris β 05:37:24
Rob Shelliker β 05:44:46
Steve Wilson β 06:07:45
Simon Witcher β 06:25:54
Kevin Jackson β 07:01:40
π₯ Highlight of the day: We even had the next generation of Wyre Tri crossing the finish line! Chrisβs son, Rupert, joined in for that iconic red-carpet finish. Future club champ in the making!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support, cheer, and provide much-needed hydration. Club pride is through the roof today. ππ₯

π¬π§ TOM TAKES ON TARRAGONA! π¬π§
Huge congratulations to our very own Tom, who repped Team GB Age Group at the Olympic distance triathlon in Tarragona over the weekend! π¬π§β¨
To say Tom had an eventful race would be a massive understatement...
πββοΈ The Swim: Absolute rocket. Tom was the first out of the water overall with a blistering time of 22:03!
π΄ββοΈ The Bike: Flying on two wheels, putting down an incredible 1:02:19.
π₯ The Twist: At 30mph, disaster struck. Tom didnβt see a final speed bump and took a massive tumble.
πββοΈ The Run: Covered in cuts, scrapes, and pure adrenaline, he dug deep and pushed through a 42:47 run.
Despite a crash that would have ended most people's day, Tom showed what Wyre Tri Club members are made of. Grit, determination, and a whole lot of heart carried him across the finish line to take a phenomenal 4th place! π
πͺ
Tom, you are an absolute warrior. Rest up, heal those battle wounds, and clean up that bikeβwe are incredibly proud of you!

πΈ MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO TONY! πββοΈπ¨
While most of us were enjoying our weekend, Wyre Triβs very own Tony was busy conquering "The Wall"βand absolutely smashing it!
For those who don't know, "The Wall" (hosted by Rat Race Events) is no walk in the park. Itβs a grueling 70-mile (113km) point-to-point ultramarathon stretching across Northern England, tracing the historic corridor of Hadrian's Wall from Carlisle Castle all the way to Gateshead.
Participants are given up to 26 hours to complete the mixed terrain of country trails, roads, and river valleys. Tony? He decided he didn't need anywhere near that long.
Check out these mind-blowing stats:
β±οΈ Finish Time: 12 hours, 13 minutes, and 51 seconds
π Placing: 24th out of 2,132 competitors!
To finish a 70-mile ultra is an incredible achievement in itself, but to finish in the top 1.2% of a massive international field is next-level phenomenal.
Drop some π and π in the comments to show Tony some well-deserved love! Time for some serious rest and recovery. You've earned it! ππΊ
