𝐔16 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞 - 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐀𝐘 🏆

It’s the final game of the National U16 futsal league and it couldn’t be much closer.

Both ourselves & Escocia sit level on points going into the final with Escocia a slightly better goal difference so it’s set to be a great day of futsal.

We are extremely proud of this group, all of whom are 2011 born (with one 2012 making their debut today). We hope this is just another step in their development and throughout the remainder of the year they will make the next step to the regional leagues.

This unique camp is designed to help players improve their technical ability, decision-making, creativity, confidence and game understanding through a combination of futsal and football activities.

Futsal is widely recognised as one of the best ways to develop young footballers, helping players become more comfortable on the ball while improving their awareness and speed of play.

Returning for 2026 is our prestigious Joga Ballon d’Or Award. Throughout the week, coaches will recognise players who demonstrate outstanding attitude, effort, sportsmanship, improvement and leadership.

A huge congratulations to Craig Mcleish who has been appointed first team manager at St Mirren.

Craig is a big advocate of the benefits of true futsal, having played in the Scottish Super League and also represented the national team he understands fully the benefits of the game.

Throughout his time at the St Mirren Academy he has sent numerous players to Joga, knowing we offer a genuine futsal experience, one which will benefit the players & hopefully in the long term, St Mirren’s first team!

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Craig McLeish as our new Manager.

The 36-year-old becomes our permanent Manager, agreeing a deal until summer 2029, after a spell as interim at the end of season 2025/26.

During Craig's time in interim charge, the club retained its Premiership status whilst seeing a positive impact on a number of key underlying metrics both in and out of possession as well as improvement on attacking and defensive outputs. Craig also handed debuts to four St Mirren Youth Academy players in Grant Tamosevicius, Caiden McMillan, Thomas Falconer and Luke Douglas.

His appointment comes following a thorough, data-driven recruitment process that aligned with the club’s football strategy on and off the pitch. The club assessed a number of external candidates before the Board and football leadership agreed that Craig was the outstanding candidate.

Stuart Taylor will remain as Assistant Manager, while Head of Goalkeeping Jamie Langfield will also take on the added responsibility of set piece coach.
