Kanshin Karate Club

Over the weekend I (Alice Maria Baverstock) went to Shogai Karate Dojo for the Shogai Summer Camp.
It was such a lot of fun camping, training and hanging out with karate friends.
The theme of the camp was Hangetsu which we delved deep into technical aspects of the kata plus bunkai and stance etc.
Thank u to Simon Bligh Sensei for a wonderful experience. I hope to be back next year.

Another hot and sweaty class last night. With Sensei Rangan away this week, the higher grades all jumped in and took turns teaching and some with one on one time with the lower grades while Alice worked on nidan syllabus.

Another successful grading today. It was a hot one. You all did so well. Im so proud of the kids. Some good feedback and some things to work on but all going in the right direction.

We was also lucky to have Sensei Avi join us and sit on the panel.

Big shout to Erico for winning best grading. His enthusiasm and attitude really stood out.

We also did a couple of mock gradings for our brown belts to get feedback to work towards their next grading.

A fantastic day at a women's and girls comp in Cheltenham. Another great day filled with laughs, friends, medals and of course karate.

Jessica Huntley won herself a silver medal in kata. Her first ever comp.
I Alice Maria Baverstock won gold in my kumite category. I was so happy with that!!!
Plus me and Claudia Cole feom FSKC won gold along with a little white/yellow belt with our lottery team kata.
Also big congrats to Manisha Patel from BVSK winning gold in kata!!!!
Its great to be surrounded by so many strong women!!!! U guys rock!!! X

Big congratulations to Sam with an outstanding pass in his shodan grading at yesterday's HDKI - GB brown and black belt course run by the excellent Paul Uren Sensei. Also congrats to Steve Bailes sensei on awarding his inaugural dan grades.
