🌱 Winter Maintenance Underway at Lightcliffe Golf Club ⛳️

Our winter maintenance programme is now underway, with the greens recently scarified as part of our ongoing efforts to keep the course in the best possible condition.

Scarifying helps remove unwanted thatch and organic material, allowing the greens to breathe, encouraging healthy growth and setting us up for a strong playing surface when the season gets underway. 💪🌿

A big thank you to our greenkeeping team for their hard work and dedication throughout the year! 👏

The Rabbits V The Ladies annual event was played on Sunday 16th August in much cooler conditions but the golf balls were still bouncing and running well.

The final score was
Rabbits 162 Ladies 157

A friendly fun competition played with much laughter and banter resulting in a second consecutive win for the Rabbits.

🏆 JUNIOR LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

A huge congratulations to the Lightcliffe Junior Section on winning the Halifax & Huddersfield Union Junior League! 👏👏

An incredible achievement, especially as the first Lightcliffe junior team to play in the league in over 10 years. A fantastic reward for all the hard work, commitment and team spirit shown throughout the season. 💪⛳

A massive thank you to every player who has represented Lightcliffe this year, Tim our professional for growing the section, to all the mums and dads who have helped throughout the season — your commitment and efforts have been outstanding, and this title is a fantastic achievement for the whole junior section.

We’re incredibly proud of you all. ❤️💙

Thursday 15th June was Lady Captains special day.

In a lot cooler conditions the annual competition was held.

The winner of the Sarah Wickens Salver was Anne Murphy.

The Thompson cup was won by Rachel Jackson.

🏌️‍♂️ What a fantastic and busy Captain’s Weekend at Lightcliffe Golf Club! ⛳

A huge congratulations to all of our winners over the weekend—some fantastic golf was played and everyone should be proud of their performances. Congratulations to Kevin Render who took the main prize👏🏆

A special thank you and congratulations to our Mr Captain, Andy Bean, for hosting such a brilliant weekend. Your hard work and dedication helped make it a memorable event for everyone.

Finally, a massive thank you to all of the volunteers, staff, and everyone behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to keep the club running smoothly throughout the weekend. Your efforts are truly appreciated and made the event possible.

The 8th of July saw Lightcliffe’s Ladies’ Invitation Day

32 ladies played in a four ball better ball in brilliant sunshine and incredible heat
