⭐️Apprentice Playworker Wanted⭐️
(Age 16–18)

We are a family-run outreach company supporting children and adults with disabilities in the community. Many of the children we support have complex needs, so we are looking for caring, reliable individuals who are willing to learn and make a difference.
Our team is close-knit, welcoming and supportive making it easy for new staff to feel a part of the team from the start.

We are offering a Level 2 Playwork Apprenticeship (18–24 months)

⭐️Role details:
• 30 hours per week
• 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day (weekend work essential)
• Supporting children and young people during outreach sessions
• Friendly, welcoming team environment
• Assisting with play-based activities that encourage development and social interaction

Experience is preferred but not essential as all training and a DBS check will be provided.

This wasn’t just a Magic Elf visit.

Today at Mandy Jane’s Ltd, I had the privilege of performing in a setting built for children and young adults of all abilities and disabilities.

A place where care comes first.

Where structure matters.

And where every individual is met exactly where they are.

That changes how entertainment needs to work.

It can’t be loud for the sake of it.

It can’t rely on one pace, one reaction, or one way of engaging.

The Magic Elf show was shaped to fit that environment.

Clear structure.

Adaptable moments.

Christmas magic that invited laughter without pressure.

And it was genuinely rewarding.

Meeting Tia, who very seriously wanted to take my magic wand home with her.

And George, who made sure I — and everyone within earshot — understood that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is actually a song about discrimination.

Fair point, George.

The show finished with a mini disco, giving movement, joy, and release in a way that stayed comfortable and manageable for everyone.

That’s the difference when a setting knows its purpose.

And why it was such a pleasure to bring the Magic Elf to Mandy Jane’s today.
