🏆 U11s win Bradford Junior Cricket League’s U11 Cup
💯 Brilliant individual performances – 100 for Michael Brooke; 50+ for Hasan Raza, Yusuf Malik, Rhys Jowett, Evan Edwards & Bruce Lunn plus for young Villagers Will Sweeten, Richard Buckland & George Horne; 5-fors for Marcus Kelly & junior Charlie Modgill.
And if you thought the past few days was busy, this Bank Holiday weekend will (weather permitting) be another level with nine fixtures across three days, including:

🏆 Lightcliffe are the Bradford Junior Cricket League’s U11 Cup Winners for 2026 🏆
Our young Villagers beat Farsley by 7 wickets which meant Captain Dominic Naylor lifted The Ernest Jones Trophy and brought it back to the club as champions for the fifth time in a decade.
Bowling Farsley out for 93, it was a brilliant unbeaten 52 from George Horne that was key to getting the Villagers over the line in just the 14th over.
Each of our 11 players on the day, and all the squad through the season, had an important part to play in the success - we’re proud of each and every one of them.
Thank you to East Bierley Cricket Club for being brilliant hosts, to all those who came to support the Final and to our amazing young players.

SUNDAY 23rd AUGUST >>
🏆 Good luck to our U11s who are in the Bradford Junior League’s Ernest Jones Trophy Final at 10am v Farsley CC at East Bierley CC – all support welcome
🏏 3rd XI are back in action away at Triangle CC
🏏 4th XI are home to Armitage Bridge CC
Lightcliffe's 1st & 2nd XI have secured wins over Batley this afternoon and now both sit 4th in their respective divisions.
🏏 The 1sts were away and won a close game by 2 wickets, passing the 207 set by the hosts with just three balls to spare.
🏏 2nd XI opener, and club legend, Michael Brooke secured a century in the win at home - his 100 from 132 included six 4s and was crucial to the 295/4 set which the visitors were unable to match with Rhys Jowett (62), Evan Edwards (57) and Will Leach (45*) also scoring heavily and Marcus Kelly taking 5-72 with the ball.

🏏💪 CONGRATULATIONS ZANI >>
Our very own Club Captain and Lightcliffe legend Alex Stead has become the third highest run scorer in the history of the Bradford Premier Cricket League.
12 in the win last weekend against Baildon was enough to take him past Ashley Metcalfe with 16,236 runs in a 1st XI career that has spanned 26 seasons.
It’s a huge achievement - and one we’re incredibly proud of.

Our U11s are in the Bradford Junior Cricket League’s U11 decider against Farsley, and they would love your support as they compete for The Ernest Jones Trophy.
