We had a great start the the Manchester box cup on Saturday, Matty coming away with a near punch perfect performance & with a UD win. Lewis started out nicely with a stunning second round KO.

Both boys went through to the finals the following day. After a second consecutive day boxing and an early start, Matty got dragged into a bit of war with both boxers receiving counts and losing out on the decision – just boxed the wrong fight, really.

Lewis was in an all action bout giving two counts to his opponent but missing out on a split decision. Think we definitely could have done better. Came away with a few bits to work on but did feel like a right kick in the teeth not getting it over the line. Not arguing with the decisions though, just felt we all could have done a bit better.

Nearing the end of what’s felt like a really long season we’ve had some cracking results from the competitive boxers. Not that you’d know, I just seem to post losses for some reason…

(Just waiting on the videos from our home show and will get a much overdue breakdown of results)

Managed to have loads of success recently with all our community based sessions with PRU’s, alternative provisions & SEND groups and have started to progress towards them getting some qualifications. It’s a real shame a lot of it can’t be posted online as I know from the teachers and support workers the gyms having a massive impact on participants outside the gym and in day to day life.

Reminder as well we have our new fitness class on Thursdays at 6pm & our new general session on Saturday mornings 9am - 10am. Invite only kids class on Mondays at 5pm for those looking to press on towards competitions.

Not many pts left for the rest of the month now but all available on here - cheaper 45 min slots available on request as well.

Didn’t get round to posting last week’s results! Chamu boxed a really good, quality lad from Liverpool in the national quarterfinals. Chamu was up against it again with his opponent having nearly triple his experience. He didn’t come far off but couldn’t quite get to his opponent. Still a brilliant achievement just to get to the national stages.

Today we entered 3 in the NAGBC championships which is an open class tournament boxed over 3x3s for our lads. Matty got a bye to the finals.

Chamu lost a 3-2 split that was razor close and I think on a better day, would have cruised but it didn’t seem to come off for him today. I will say though, he’s really started knuckling down at the gym. This season’s all about building and getting thrown in the deep end so more than happy again today.

Lewis Walker started his season boxing a good lad from Laisterdyke. We’ve been working on a lot the last few months and it was really nice to see it come off for Lewis today with a first round knockdown followed by a nearly punch perfect performance leading to a UD win.

Got a few pts left for the week, our free sessions from 13–17 years old on Wednesdays at 4pm in partnership with – please share with anyone you think may be interested as we have slots available and think it’d be a massive shame not to get a big turnout! DM me for the link to book.
