Since the event’s first inception in 2004 we have striven to adapt our route to try and incorporate as much legal off-road riding as we possibly can. Over the intervening years our commitment has paid off handsomely as we have continued to develop the route and have secured access to several additional sections. These sections provide some added variety for our returning participants and complemen

Hi all (again). To the best of my knowledge ALL outstanding t-shirts have now either been posted out with Royal Mail, or hand-delivered (by me) to the address on your entry form. Hopefully all those that were posted last week have landed safely at their intended destinations and fingers crossed that the remaining ones that went today arrive sometime early next week.
Please feel free to post up (below) any selfies of you in your shirts to prove that they’ve got there safely. Cheers and have a great rest of the year.

Hi all. Just a quick note to set a few minds at rest. Don’t worry if you ordered a t-shirt with your entry - everything’s on order with the printers, I’m just waiting in their queue of garments. Once I receive the shirts I’ll start to post them (Royal Mail) and work through the list. Apologies for the longer delay than anticipated, but things are in order and will be dealt with as soon as I can. Thanks.

+++ The Results are on the Website +++
Apologies for the delay, but I’ve literally been sorting through a bag full of post-it notes with times written on.
Inevitably there will be some corrections required, so don’t be annoyed, just text me your name, bike number, the route you rode and your *actual* time. Please don’t think that you’re Jimmy Carr’s accountant and start being ‘creative’ with the info though, the event is only a bit of fun but it’s important that things are accurate. Cheers.
Edit: We’ll give it a week or so for folk to get in touch, then we’ll update it all en bloc and preserve it for all eternity. Or at least until my descendants stop paying for the website…

Hi all. I fully understand that everyone is expecting the results asap and their t-shirt in the post too, but I’d just like to request a little patience this year. There have been issues with the timing app that we used, so the results are going to take much longer than usual to publish. If you have a missed call or text from an unknown number then it could very well be me trying to contact you with regard to this issue.
Also, due to having a flood of entries (which we’re very grateful for) AFTER the final t-shirt order had to be placed, there are a lot more than usual to send out retrospectively. This is going to take me some time to wade through. Please be assured that if you ‘qualify’ for a shirt then we will send you one out in the post, but there will be a delay.
I hope this situation doesn’t unduly upset anyone, but I’m on my own with this and am having to fit things in around other commitments too.
Many thanks - it will all come together in the end, but a little patience will help rather than hinder. Jonny.

Just to clarify a few points:

You must register and collect your bike number at Leymoor Cricket Club first. It is on Parkwood Road, Golcar, Hudds. HD7 4QW, right next to the Walkers Arms pub.

You can then head for the start, which is on Holmfield Road, about half a mile away.

You will finish at the cricket field.

Parking is all on street and very congested. Aim to arrive as early as you can, around 8.00am if possible. Make use of the streets both above and below the cricket field.

We have just 2 toilets - you will have to queue. Please bear this in mind. No

Refreshments before and after are free.

Bacon butties are £1.50each. You do have to pay for these if you want one.

You CAN ENTER ON THE DAY. It’s £25 CASH and you will NOT GET A T-SHIRT. No exceptions.

Thanks - we hope you have a great day.

A last reminder:
Pre-entry closes at midnight TONIGHT. If you want to ride AND get yourself a commemorative t-shirt, then you MUST ENTER BEFORE MIDNIGHT. Ideally you’ll not leave it so late though, because I’ve had a lot of late nights already and I’d quite like to be not be sat up at 2.00am emailing entry confirmations again!
If you’re still undecided, then please turn up on the morning (in good time - 8.00ish) with your £25 CASH and fill in the CORRECT ENTRY FORM. Remember, I have to read these things afterwards and I’d rather not have to try and decipher what looks like an explosion in a Welsh Scrabble factory!
If you want to ride, no one will be turned away.
Parking is all on street, so the earlier you arrive the more chance you’ll have of parking in the same post code as the HQ.
Thanks.

Colne Valley Mountain Bike Challenge – May 12th 2024 – 9:00AM 30/04/2024

I’m not quite sure what it is, but there’s been a strange yellow thing in the Huddersfield sky these last couple of days. Coincidentally, the tracks and trails around here have begun to firm up nicely, so things are looking promising for the (last) Big Day on 12th May.
Get yourselves over to www.cvmbc.co.uk and sort yourselves an entry out.
Don’t forget, if you leave it to turn up on the day itself (which you very much can do if you like) then there’ll be NO T-Shirts available. So, if you want one, you MUST pre-enter.
