🏏 HUNTLEY CC PRESENTATION EVENING 🏆

What a fantastic evening at Huntley Cricket Club on Saturday as we celebrated another brilliant season! 🎉

We were delighted to be joined by former England & Somerset bowler Andrew Caddick and Peter Trego, who entertained everyone with some fantastic stories and memories from their careers.

Chairman Rich Bowman got proceedings underway, reflecting on the highlights from the season, how far the club has progressed, and the plans and ambitions for building an even stronger future for Huntley CC. 💚❤️

After some very entertaining stories from our guests, it was time to get down to the important business… the awards! 🏆

Both sides head into the final weekend undefeated in their respective leagues. Random fancy dress social what ever the weather! Reminder the end of season dinner is just 2 weeks away!

Our end of season dinner is set for the 12th of September. 6:30 for 7pm dinner with guest speakers Peter Trego and Andrew Caddick.
Tickets are £25 to include a 2 course meal.

1st team are looking to secure the league title today needing just 5 points from the remaining 44 available.
2’s don’t have a league game however we do have a friendly scheduled so games both home and away today. Be sure to join us as we look to celebrate another league title later this evening!

Where do we start?! What an incredible weekend for Huntley Cricket Club! ❤️

1st XI – PROMOTION! ⬆️

The 1’s have secured promotion with 2 games still to play and now need just 5 points to claim the league title!

Huntley batted first against Lydney 2’s, posting an impressive 245-4, with Wade Ridsdale scoring a fantastic 105.

Lydney were then bowled out for 184, with Alex Gray taking 6-18, including a hat-trick! 🤯👏🏻

A fantastic 61-run victory!

🏆 Huntley win by 61 runs

2nd XI – LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

The 2’s secured the league title with a win over Lydney 3’s!

Lydney were bowled out for 127, with wickets shared around the team and Glen Balmer taking an excellent 3-6.

Huntley reached 128-6, with contributions from throughout the batting order and Paul Hathaway top scoring with 27.

A 4-wicket victory and the league title secured! 🏆👏🏻

3rd XI – HISTORY MADE! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

For the first time in the club’s history, Huntley managed to put three Saturday teams out!

The 3’s played Monmouth 4’s, who batted first and were bowled out for 137, with Phoebe Abbott taking 3-32.

Huntley went on to reach the target, but a huge thank you to Monmouth for allowing Huntley to bat the full 30 overs so everyone could get a game, finishing on 199, with Holly Mayers scoring 52.

A great game, with cricket being the real winner! 🥇

A massive thank you to Monmouth for the fixture and to Cinderford for allowing us to use their pitch. 👏🏻

Sunday – LADIES ARE CHAMPIONS! 🏆❤️

The ladies faced Tewkesbury in a huge top-of-the-table clash, with the winners knowing they would be crowned league champions!

Huntley batted first and posted an excellent 124-3, with Holly continuing her fantastic form with 43 and Gemma Abbott scoring 31.

Tewkesbury finished on 57-5 from their 20 overs, with some excellent bowling from the whole team and wickets coming from Beth, Lara, Megan and Phoebe.

Huntley winning by 67 runs and, more importantly…

HUNTLEY LADIES ARE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆👏🏻❤️

Yesterday, our Head Coach Wade Ridsdale had the fantastic opportunity to represent the Gloucestershire Gipsies against Lashing CC, with former Gloucestershire CCC and West Indies legend Courtney Walsh also featuring.

Lashing posted 177–5, with the Gipsies finishing on 164–4, meaning Lashing took the win by 13 runs.

The club was there in full support, with a table in the marquee and plenty of cheering from the sidelines! 🙌🏻

A fabulous day and an experience Wade will remember for a long time.
