A groundsman’s work is never done; the season is over, nights are drawing in but plenty is still happening at the grounds.

This week loam was applied to the squares which helps create a hard, smooth and stable surface helping ensure a consistent bounce and pace when the ball pitches.

Thank you to 2nd XI Captain Jimmy Davies for loaning machinery enabling it to happen, and groundsman Pete Kelsall for all the hard work you continue to do out of season.

Team work makes the dream work 🥰🏏

We are extremely proud that the 1st XI have won the WEPL Fair Play Award for 2026, Captain Sam Didcote and his Team both accumulating the most points this year.

Although captains and umpires together set the tone for the conduct of the game, as Captain Sam is at all times responsible for ensuring play is conducted within the Spirit of the Game as well as within The Laws.

Additionally the Spirit of the Game requires all players to respect their opponents, own captain and players, the role of the umpires, the game and its traditional values.

After each match the opposition grade and award points to Captains and the Team under four themes;

🌟 Captains cooperation with Umpires
🌟 Captain’s team management
🌟 Team respect for Umpires
🌟 Team respect for opposition

…..and AICC were the league winners of the award this year.

Last Friday saw us celebrate the brilliant achievements of our junior members this year 🥳🏏

The club house was packed with many members, family and friends gathering for the annual end of season awards highlighting the highest run scorers and wicket takers, most improved, players' player......across our U9, U11, U13, U15 & U17 teams.

But of course it's not just about the award winners. Every single person that played for AICC this year, ferried children to matches, supported, volunteered, prepared the grounds and played their part, thank you. It's a team sport and in our eyes, we're all winners together 🥰

Congratulations again to our Women's Softball team who yesterday at the Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation 2026 Women & Girls Awards Celebration received their trophy as GCF Softball 100 Cup County Champions 🥳

It’s our annual club tidy down day this Sunday, 20th September.

From taking down site screens, covers and banners to getting ropes in, tidying the club house and shed to storing benches and bagging up lost property plus plenty more….

If you are able to lend a hand from 10am we’d really appreciate your help. Big jobs or small jobs, they all need doing and whether you can spare 30 mins or 3 hours every little helps us get packed away for the winter 🙏🏏🥶

Friday sees us celebrate this year's outstanding Junior achievements at their End of Season Awards starting at 18:00 prompt.

Well done to everyone that played for AICC this year, we hope you enjoyed it and thank you for helping make this year so brilliant for all of our junior teams.

Patty Boy will be serving freshly cooked food from 17:00 so make sure you grab something tasty to eat too 😋

It's that time of year again.

This Sunday is our annual "Club Tidy Down Day" as we take everything down and put it safely away over the Winter before springing back into life next April!

If you can spare any time we'd love to see you as there's always plenty to do. From taking down banners, boards and site screens and tidying the club house to storing benches, bagging lost property or taking down the hanging baskets and tubs.....plus plenty more too!

We start at 10:00 on Sunday and if you can pop in for any length of time throughout the day the Club will appreicate your help - there's a job or two for eveyone!
