We’d like to say a huge thank you to the greenkeeping team here at Pennant Park. From preparing the greens and maintaining the fairways to looking after the bunkers and the wider course, a great deal of work goes into keeping everything looking and playing at its best.

Much of that work happens early in the morning, behind the scenes and in all kinds of weather. Their knowledge, care and hard work make a real difference to every round played at Pennant Park.

Was pleasantly surprised with my visit to Alnesbourne Priory today.

£18 a round, with every hole having a view of the River Orwell and a couple of the holes right on it! Bargain

4 Par 4s and 5 Par 3s
The good thing about this course is really you can’t try and drive the Par 4s…
The first isn’t allowed, but the rest apart from the last but over a pond and a tight one with Out of Bounds beyond the green

Wasn’t an easy course, especially in wind, Par 3s ranging from 130-180 yards

Greens were a little wooly, but ran fine…
Can’t see anyone coming away from here and being disappointed at spending £18, a really tranquil place with tennis courts, park and lodges!
You’d never think it was there when you come off the main road, very welcome hospitality in the clubhouse too!

19 days away from golf comes to an end at Alnesbourne Priory Golf Club just South of Ipswich ⛳️

Rusty Slim but +2 gross for 9 holes with the Mrs who’s also my biggest asset and believes in me, kept me going! Love her so much!

Very impressed with the course and will post some pictures of the course later!
