LGS Stoneygate Founded in 1856, LGS Stoneygate is an independent co-educational day school in the Leicestershire countryside.

Educating ages 3–16 from Early Years to Senior School, we offer small classes, strong pastoral care and a nurturing, family-centred environment. We are located in the rural setting of Great Glen in Leicestershire. The key to our success has been our dual focus on achieving high academic standards through properly structured and resourced lesson time, whilst providing extra curricular opportunities in the performing arts, sports and other leisure activities.

✨ The doors opened, the adventures began… and what a morning it was! 🏫💫

On Saturday, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming so many wonderful families through the doors of LGS Stoneygate for our Open Morning.

There were classrooms to explore, activities to discover and plenty of excitement along the way, while parents had the chance to meet our staff, ask questions and imagine what the next chapter of their child’s journey could look like with us. 💙
But the loveliest part? The conversations, smiles and little moments shared throughout the morning that brought our school community to life.

To every family who joined us, thank you for coming to explore, experience and discover LGS Stoneygate. We loved welcoming you into our school and hope this was just the beginning of your journey with us. ✨

Your family. Our family. Your adventure starts here. 💛

⛪✨ 170 years of stories. Generations of memories. One very special school.

Last Friday, we celebrated LGS Stoneygate Foundation Day, marking an incredible 170 years of history, community and memories. ❤️💙

For one special service, past and present came together under one roof. We were delighted to welcome back alumni, former members of staff and past parents, alongside the pupils, families and staff who are writing the next chapter of our story today.

There is something quite magical about hearing memories passed from one generation to the next. Stories of friendships formed, teachers remembered, lessons learned and moments that may have happened decades apart, but all share one thing in common: LGS Stoneygate. ✨

For 170 years, our school has been so much more than the buildings around us. It is the people who have walked through our doors, the memories they have carried with them and the legacy each generation leaves for the next.

So, here’s to the stories already written, the memories still being made and the adventures yet to come…

Here’s to the next 170 years. 🥂✨

🎨 Being Creative means thinking beyond the expected… ✨

At LGS Stoneygate, being Creative is one of our core values. It’s about giving our pupils the confidence to imagine, experiment, ask “what if?” and discover where their ideas might take them. 💡

From the classroom to the stage, the art room to the playground, creativity is woven into everyday life at LGS Stoneygate. We encourage our pupils to explore their ideas, express themselves and find new ways to approach the world around them.

Because being Creative isn’t just about what you make. It’s about how you think. ✨

Creative minds. Bold ideas.

Your family. Our family. Inspiring creative minds. ❤️💙

Friday at LGS Stoneygate took us on a little trip around the world… without ever leaving school! 🌍✈️

From cheerful “Bonjour!” and “¡Hola!” to discovering new words, cultures and ways of communicating, our Language Day celebration brought the world to life across our school. 🇫🇷🇪🇸🇩🇪🇵🇹

For our pupils, learning a language is about so much more than vocabulary. It’s about opening a door to new people, new places and new possibilities, building the confidence and curiosity to feel at home in a much bigger world. 💬✨

And on Friday, that world felt just a little bit closer.

🌎 Next stop? Anywhere.

🪨🔍 Year 3 became Rock Detectives last week as they explored the fascinating world of rocks!

Using their observation skills and key characteristics as clues, the children investigated and identified a range of rocks, including granite, limestone, chalk, flint and sandstone. They also discovered the three main types of rock, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic, and learned how each is formed.

Through hands-on investigations and lively discussions, our young geologists developed their scientific vocabulary, deepened their understanding of the world around them and, most importantly, had lots of fun learning! 🌍✨

💙 Your family. Our family. A love of learning.
